Police have arrested a 26-year-old man who they have identified as a “strong person of interest” in the murder of on December 4. On Tuesday (local time) NYPD Police Commissioner told the press that a man named was arrested on firearms charges after being identified in a McDonalds in Pennsylvania. He was reportedly found with a gun, a silencer, four fake IDs and other items that police deemed “consistent” with . Tisch confirmed that one of the four IDs was a “fraudulent New Jersey ID matching the ID our suspect used to check into his New York City hostel before the shooting”. Mangione was also found with a three-page manifesto which had “ill will towards corporate America” and allegedly spoke to his motivations behind the crime. “Additionally, officers recovered a handwritten document that speaks to both his motivation and mindset,” Tisch said. According to ‘s law enforcement and intelligence analyst — who claimed to have read the manifesto — it critiqued health insurance companies for the way it prioritises profit over the care of customers.
