United and Everton fans are set to stage a protest against ticket prices ahead of their Premier League clash on Sunday. Manchester United’s decision to put up the cost of all members’ match tickets to £66 for the remainder of the season has been labelled “offensive” by the club’s leading supporters’ group. Manchester United Supporters’ Trust (MUST) revealed the club had informed the fans forum that changes to certain ticket policies will take effect immediately “and that this price will apply for kids and over-65s as well as adults”. We have cheered the players on even in the face of substandard performance. “We have objected to this action in the strongest possible terms, both for the action itself and the complete lack of consultation, which is a step backward based on the process we had agreed with the club before INEOS’ arrival. “Over the coming days MUST will be seeking urgent discussions with the club to get them to listen to fans’ concern at this policy. “United fans have sucked up a lot. Photos show the white, two-door Hyundai Excel burnt out and submerged in a body of water. Three CFA vehicles were on scene: one from Kangaroo Flat and two from Maiden Gully. The incident was declared under control at 7.16pm and safe at 7.30pm. According to Victoria Police, officers were called to the car fire about 7.20pm and the incident remains under investigation. Wissanu Krea-ngam, a former deputy prime minister and prominent legal expert, said the referendum presents what look to be insurmountable legal and technical hurdles in passing a wholesale constitutional amendment within the current term of the House of Representatives. The bill to prepare the groundwork for a referendum appears to be giving lawmakers more trouble than they need, he pointed out. At least three referendums, as ruled by the Constitutional Court, must be organised with an approval vote before major changes can be made to the charter. With the House's term set to expire in less than three years, concern is growing that the process of arranging the referendums that mandate sweeping charter amendment and rewriting the constitution cannot be completed in time. Mr Wissanu said the best option was to rewrite the charter section by section, which does not require a referendum. However, it stipulates which sections or chapters in the charter necessitate a referendum if they were to be modified.
