www betfred login Madonna shares very awkward snaps as she issues plea over ironing and drinkingNEW YORK — Shohei Ohtani won his third Most Valuable Player Award and first in the National League, and Aaron Judge earned his second American League honor on Thursday. Ohtani was a unanimous MVP for the third time, receiving all 30 first-place votes and 420 points in voting by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor was second with 263 points and Arizona second baseman Ketel Marte third with 229. Judge was a unanimous pick for the first time. Kansas City shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. got all 30 second-place votes for 270 points, and Yankees outfielder Juan Soto was third with 21 third-place votes and 229 points. Judge had discussed the MVP award with Philadelphia’s Bryce Harper, the NL winner in 2015 and ’21. “I was telling him, `Man, I’m going to try to catch up to you with these MVPs here, man,’” Judge recalled. “He’d say, hopefully, he could stay a couple ahead of me, which I think he’ll do.” Ohtani was unanimously voted the AL MVP in 2021 and 2023 as a two-way star for the Los Angeles Angels and finished second to Judge in 2022 voting . He didn’t pitch in 2024 following elbow surgery and signed a record $700 million, 10-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers last December. He was the first player to twice become an unanimous MVP. He combined with Atlanta outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. in 2023 for the first year both MVPs were unanimous. Ohtani hit .310, stole 59 bases and led the NL with 54 homers and 130 RBIs exclusively as a designated hitter, becoming the first player with 50 or more homers and 50 or more stolen bases in a season. He helped the Dodgers to the World Series title , playing the final three games with a torn labrum in his left shoulder . Ohtani became the first primary DH to win an MVP. He joined Frank Robinson for Cincinnati in 1961 and Baltimore in 1966 as the only players to win the MVP award in both leagues. Ohtani is the 12th player with three or more MVPs, joining Barry Bonds (seven) and Jimmie Foxx, Joe DiMaggio, Stan Musial, Roy Campanella, Yogi Berra, Mickey Mantle, Mike Schmidt, Alex Rodriguez, Albert Pujols and Mike Trout (three each). Balloting was conducted before the postseason. Judge led the major leagues with 58 homers, 144 RBIs and 133 walks while hitting .322. Witt topped the big leagues with a .332 average, hitting 32 homers with 31 stolen bases and 109 RBIs. Soto batted .288 with 41 homers and 109 RBIs. When Judge won his first MVP award in 2022, he received 28 first-place votes while Ohtani got the other two. When Judge won his first MVP award in 2022, he received 28 first-place votes while Ohtani got the other two. He is the Yankees' 22nd MVP winner, four more than any other team. Judge was hitting .207 with six homers and 18 RBIs through April, then batted .352 with 52 homers and 126 RBIs in 127 games. “March and April were not my friend this year.” Judge said. “Just keep putting in the work and things are going to change. You can’t mope. You can’t feel sorry for yourself. Especially in New York, nobody’s going to feel sorry for you. So you just got to go out there and put up the numbers?” Balloting was conducted before the postseason. No One Knows That You're Great At What You Do

Jason Kelce, wife Kylie and their three daughters reportedly joined brother Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift and her family for Thanksgiving in Nashville, Tennessee. The retired Philadelphia Eagle and current ESPN analyst, 37, and 32-year-old Kylie brought their three daughters — Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 3, and 21-month-old Bennett (and a fourth girl is en route) — to celebrate the holiday with the Kansas City Chief, 35, and Swift, 34, and her family, including dad Scott and mom Andrea, People magazine says. “Taylor and Travis had a great Thanksgiving together with their families. It’s the first they’ve celebrated together,” a source told the magazine. “Jason was there with his family and kids too. It was very festive and special.” At some point Travis and Taylor left Nashville to return to Kansas City for the game the next day. Donna Kelce, the football stars’ mom, told the “Today” show last month it was unlikely that Swift would be joining her for turkey and sides. “Not that anything’s planned,” she said. “I think we’re just going to be at the football game.” The Chiefs defeated the Las Vegas Raiders, 19-17, in a Black Friday showdown in Kansas City. Swift, who has become a frequent attendee of Chiefs games since she started dating the All-Pro tight end in 2023, was spotted at the game posing for photos with two young fans. ©2024 New York Daily News. No. 2 Auburn and No. 9 Duke square off less than one month into the season as two of the most battle-tested teams in basketball. They're matched as one of the marquee games in the crossover showcase known as the ACC-SEC Challenge. Auburn (7-0) jumped two spots in the latest Top 25 poll propelled by its Maui Invitational championship. In one of Feast Week's toughest brackets, the Tigers rallied from 18 points down to beat then-No. 4 Iowa State, handled then-No. 12 North Carolina 85-72 and rolled past Memphis 90-76 in the title game. With a week off to shed any remnants of jet lag returning from the islands, Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl is pointing to another potential resume-building win. "The confidence that we're going to get from (Maui) is that we know we can play with anybody," Pearl said. "I promise you this, we'll stay humble and hungry. We will not begin to think too much of ourselves." Helping lead Auburn in Maui was fifth-year power forward Johni Broome. The tournament's MVP, Broome averaged 21.7 points, 15 rebounds, 4.3 assists and three blocks in the three-game sweep. Spearheading a veteran Tigers roster, Broome couldn't care less about individual honors. "I wanted to come to a place where the foundation was already built, and that's why I came to Auburn," Broome said. "Winning player of the year doesn't matter to me. I care about winning games, and making sure I can help my team in any way." Broome's 20.7 points and 12.9 rebounds per game lead the Tigers, while Chad Baker-Mazara adds 12.6 ppg and Denver Jones chips in 11.1. Auburn's next roadblock is earning its first-ever win against Duke. The Tigers are 0-3 all-time against the Blue Devils, including a six-point loss in the 2018 Maui Invitational. Duke (5-2) has already been through three games against ranked opponents. The Blue Devils had a 77-72 loss against then-No. 19 Kentucky, a 14-point win at then-No. 17 Arizona and a 75-72 defeat against No. 1 Kansas last week in Las Vegas. "Best team we've played so far," Pearl said of Duke. Bouncing back on Friday, the Blue Devils took down Seattle 70-48, holding the Redhawks to just 10 made field goals on 47 attempts (21.3 percent). Despite the suffocating defensive effort, Duke head coach Jon Scheyer knows his team has a long way to go. "I wasn't really happy with much tonight, to be honest," Scheyer said on Friday. "I thought we rushed some shots, had too many turnovers. We need to finish stronger, drive stronger, make extra passes, there were a whole bunch of things. ... We just need to get back to practice. In fairness to our guys, we've been traveling a lot and we just need practice time." Pacing the Blue Devils in scoring is five-star freshman Cooper Flagg. He's averaging 15.9 points per game to go along with 8.3 rebounds. Fellow freshman Kon Knueppel adds 13.4 points per contest. Far less seasoned raw freshman, big man Khaman Maluach has given Duke's interior defense an edge it was lacking last season. A projected lottery pick who can be overshadowed by the Flagg publicity train, Maluach (7-2, 248) is averaging 8.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and has two three-block games. In last year's inaugural ACC-SEC Challenge, Duke lost at Arkansas 80-75 and Auburn topped Virginia Tech 74-57. --Field Level MediaSunaina Kwatra, Partner at Styl Capital and a seasoned fashion executive with extensive experience building iconic luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and Givenchy, believes sustainability is no longer just a buzzword but the future of the fashion industry. In an exclusive conversation with NewsX, she discusses how sustainability is reshaping the global fashion landscape, the challenges brands face, and the innovative practices driving eco-conscious change. Kwatra also shares her vision for a greener fashion industry, where ethical practices and profitability coexist harmoniously. Why is sustainability such a buzzword in the fashion industry? Sunaina Kwatra: Sustainability has become a buzzword because there is growing awareness among consumers about the environmental and social impact of their purchasing choices. The fashion industry, in particular, has long been notorious for its significant contribution to pollution and waste. As consumers demand more transparency and ethical practices, brands are feeling the pressure to adapt and integrate sustainable practices into their business models. How much waste does fashion cause to the planet? The fashion industry is one of the largest contributors to global waste. It is estimated that 92 million tons of textile waste are produced annually, with much of this ending up in landfills or incinerators. Fast fashion exacerbates the issue by encouraging overconsumption and rapid disposal of garments. While the numbers are alarming, they also highlight the urgent need for innovation in materials, manufacturing processes, and consumer behaviour to mitigate the industry’s environmental footprint. What makes a garment sustainable? A sustainable garment is one that is designed, produced, and disposed of in a way that minimizes harm to the environment and society. This can include using eco-friendly materials like organic cotton, hemp, or recycled fabrics, as well as adopting energy-efficient production methods. A garment is also considered sustainable if it is built to last longer, which reduces the need for frequent replacements. How competitive is India in the sustainable fabric market? India is becoming an increasingly competitive player in the sustainable fabric market. The country has a rich history in textiles, and in recent years, there has been a growing shift towards eco-conscious manufacturing practices. India is home to a wide variety of natural fibres, such as organic cotton and bamboo, which are key to creating sustainable fabrics. Additionally, there is a strong push from both government and private sectors to adopt more environmentally friendly production techniques. Can sustainability in fashion be profitable for brands? Absolutely. While the upfront investment in sustainable practices may be higher, the long-term benefits can outweigh the costs. Consumers today are willing to pay a premium for products that align with their values, including sustainability. What role do consumers play in pushing brands toward sustainability? Consumers are playing a pivotal role in driving the shift toward sustainability. With access to more information than ever before, shoppers are increasingly demanding that brands be more transparent about their sourcing, manufacturing processes, and environmental impact. This has prompted many brands to rethink their strategies, not just to remain competitive, but to meet consumer expectations. What challenges do brands face when trying to adopt sustainable practices? One of the biggest challenges is cost. Sustainable materials and production methods often require more investment upfront. For many smaller brands, this can be a significant barrier. There’s also the complexity of sourcing ethical materials and ensuring that the entire supply chain adheres to sustainable standards, which requires more resources, monitoring, and sometimes, third-party certifications. What are some of the most promising innovations in sustainable fashion? There are several exciting innovations happening in the sustainable fashion space. One of the most promising is the development of bio-based fabrics, such as lab-grown leather and fibers made from algae, fungi, and food waste. These materials not only reduce reliance on petrochemicals but also offer unique textures and properties that could redefine fashion design. Another major innovation is circular fashion, which involves designing products that can be easily disassembled and recycled at the end of their life cycle. How do you think sustainability will evolve in fashion over the next 5-10 years? I believe we’ll see sustainability move from a ‘trend’ to a fundamental aspect of all fashion brands, not just those targeting eco-conscious consumers. Sustainability will likely become a standard practice, with brands incorporating it into their DNA. In the next 5-10 years, we may see widespread adoption of circular business models, where products are designed with their end-of-life in mind. How important is it for fashion companies to collaborate with one another in sustainability efforts? Collaboration is absolutely critical. Sustainability is such a complex and multifaceted issue that no single company can solve it alone. It requires shared knowledge, resources, and even new business models. Many companies are beginning to work together on creating industry-wide standards and best practices for sustainability. Collaborations between designers, manufacturers, and even technology companies can help scale innovations faster and more effectively. What advice would you give to emerging fashion brands that want to incorporate sustainability into their business model? Start by defining what sustainability means for your brand. It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach—whether it’s using ethical materials, ensuring fair labour practices, or reducing your carbon footprint, it’s important to align your actions with your brand values. Be transparent with your customers about your efforts and challenges; authenticity goes a long way. How do you see the relationship between luxury fashion and sustainability? Can they coexist? Luxury fashion and sustainability can definitely coexist, and in fact, many luxury brands are leading the way in integrating sustainability into their operations. For luxury brands, sustainability is not just about using eco-friendly materials; it’s also about the timelessness of the products they create. Luxury fashion is built on the idea of quality and longevity, and these values align perfectly with sustainability. Can you tell us more about the sustainable fashion brand you’re working on in India? Absolutely. The brand we’re working on is incredibly exciting because it brings together India’s rich textile heritage with modern sustainable practices. We’re focused on using natural, organic fabrics and developing designs that have a minimal environmental footprint. It’s about making garments that are not only stylish but also have a story to tell about the people and processes behind them. The goal is to launch the brand in the U.S. in 2025, and we’re aiming to tap into the growing demand for sustainable fashion among American consumers. We’re building a brand that will be transparent about its sourcing, give back to communities, and provide high-quality products that customers can feel good about wearing.

Tafara Gapare scored a season-high 19 points off the bench and Derik Queen added 15 points and eight rebounds, lifting Maryland to a 91-67 victory over Bucknell on Wednesday in College Park, Md. Gapare made 7 of 9 shots from the floor -- including 3 of 4 from 3-point range. He highlighted his performance by unleashing a personal 10-point run in the second half to help send the Terrapins (6-1) to their third straight win. Gapare, who made one 3-pointer prior to Wednesday's game, was limited to just three minutes and was held without a point in Maryland's 76-75 victory versus Villanova on Sunday. Julian Reese scored 14 points for the Terrapins, who shot a robust 50.0 percent from the floor and scored 22 points off 20 turnovers. Selton Miguel drained three 3-pointers to score all 13 of his points in the first half. That effort came three days after being held without a point versus Villanova. Bucknell's Ruot Bijiek sank four 3-pointers to highlight his 20-point performance. Josh Bascoe scored 10 points and Brandon McCreesh added nine off the bench for the Bison (4-4), who lost two in a row for the second time this season. Maryland answered Bijiek's layup by scoring 12 straight points to take a 15-2 lead. Miguel keyed the spurt by draining two 3-pointers and a jumper. Bucknell tried to keep pace and trailed 25-12 after McCreesh's layup, but the Terrapins kept their foot on the gas to steadily build a 25-point lead late in the first half. The Bison made a modest charge to begin the second half, trimming the deficit to 16 at 58-42 on Bijiek's fourth 3-pointer of the game. Gapare singlehandedly halted the momentum by sandwiching 3-pointers around a layup and an emphatic dunk over the next five possessions. Reese sank a pair of free throws to cap the 12-0 run, extending Maryland's lead to 70-42 with 11:39 to play. The Terrapins were not threatened the rest of the way. --Field Level Media
