Motilal Oswal Financial Services has a buy call on Reliance Industries with a target price of Rs 1580. The current market price of Reliance Industries is Rs 1311.8. Reliance Industries, incorporated in 1973, is a Large Cap company with a market cap of Rs 1774838.37 crore, operating in Diversified sector. Reliance Industries Ltd. key Products/Revenue Segments include Petrochemicals, Other Services, Oil & Gas, Others and Income from Retailing for the year ending 31-Mar-2024. Financials For the quarter ended 30-09-2024, the company has reported a Consolidated Total Income of Rs 2,36,411 crore, up .27% from last quarter Total Income of Rs 235767 crore and up .29 % from last year same quarter Total Income of Rs 235727.00 crore. The company has reported net profit after tax of Rs 19101.00 crore in the latest quarter. Investment Rationale Motilal Oswal Financial Services has built in ~10% consolidated EBITDA and PAT CAGR for Reliance Industries over FY24-27, driven by double-digit EBITDA CAGR in RJio (tariff hikes, market share gains, and FWA ramp-up) and Reliance Retail (continued footprint and category expansions). After a subdued 1H, we expect earnings to recover for the O2C segment, driven by improvement in refining margins. However, our FY27 consolidated EBITDA for O2C and E&P is broadly similar to FY24 levels. The brokerage modelled an annual consolidated capex of Rs 1.25-1.3 trillion for RIL as the moderation in RJio capex is likely to be offset by higher capex in New Energy forays. However, we believe the peak of capex is behind, which should lead to FCF generation (~INR1t over FY24-27) and a reduction in consolidated net debt. NoneCAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — Known across the globe as the stuck astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams hit the six-month mark in space Thursday with two more to go. The pair rocketed into orbit on June 5 , the first to ride Boeing's new Starliner crew capsule on what was supposed to be a weeklong test flight. They arrived at the International Space Station the next day, only after overcoming a cascade of thruster failures and helium leaks . NASA deemed the capsule too risky for a return flight, so it will be February before their long and trying mission comes to a close. While NASA managers bristle at calling them stuck or stranded, the two retired Navy captains shrug off the description of their plight. They insist they're fine and accepting of their fate. Wilmore views it as a detour of sorts: "We're just on a different path." NASA astronauts Suni Williams, left, and Butch Wilmore stand together for a photo June 5 as they head to the launch pad at Space Launch Complex 41 in Cape Canaveral, Fla., for their liftoff on the Boeing Starliner capsule to the International Space Station. "I like everything about being up here," Williams told students Wednesday from an elementary school named for her in Needham, Massachusetts, her hometown. "Just living in space is super fun." Both astronauts lived up there before, so they quickly became full-fledged members of the crew, helping with science experiments and chores like fixing a broken toilet, vacuuming the air vents and watering the plants. Williams took over as station commander in September. "Mindset does go a long way," Wilmore said in response to a question from Nashville first graders in October. He's from Mount Juliet, Tennessee. "I don't look at these situations in life as being downers." Boeing flew its Starliner capsule home empty in September, and NASA moved Wilmore and Williams to a SpaceX flight not due back until late February. Two other astronauts were bumped to make room and to keep to a six-month schedule for crew rotations. Boeing Crew Flight Test astronauts Butch Wilmore, left, and Suni Williams pose for a portrait June 13 inside the vestibule between the forward port on the International Space Station's Harmony module and Boeing's Starliner spacecraft. Like other station crews, Wilmore and Williams trained for spacewalks and any unexpected situations that might arise. "When the crews go up, they know they could be there for up to a year," NASA Associate Administrator Jim Free said. NASA astronaut Frank Rubio found that out the hard way when the Russian Space Agency had to rush up a replacement capsule for him and two cosmonauts in 2023, pushing their six-month mission to just past a year. Boeing said this week that input from Wilmore and Williams was "invaluable" in the ongoing inquiry of what went wrong. The company said it is preparing for Starliner's next flight but declined to comment on when it might launch again. NASA also has high praise for the pair. "Whether it was luck or whether it was selection, they were great folks to have for this mission," NASA's chief health and medical officer, Dr. JD Polk, said during an interview with The Associated Press. NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, both Expedition 71 flight engineers, make pizza Sept. 9 aboard the International Space Station's galley located inside the Unity module. Items are attached to the galley using tape and Velcro to keep them from flying away in the microgravity environment. On top of everything else, Williams, 59, had to deal with "rumors," as she calls them, of serious weight loss. She insists her weight is the same as it was on launch day, which Polk confirms. During Wednesday's student chat, Williams said she didn't have much of an appetite when she first arrived in space. But now she's "super hungry" and eating three meals a day plus snacks, while logging the required two hours of daily exercise. Williams, a distance runner, uses the space station treadmill to support races in her home state. She competed in Cape Cod's 7-mile Falmouth Road Race in August. She ran the 2007 Boston Marathon up there as well. She has a New England Patriots shirt with her for game days, as well as a Red Sox spring training shirt. "Hopefully I'll be home before that happens — but you never know," she said in November. Husband Michael Williams, a retired federal marshal and former Navy aviator, is caring for their dogs back home in Houston. As for Wilmore, 61, he's missing his younger daughter's senior year in high school and his older daughter's theater productions in college. The astronauts in the video seemed to be in good spirits with one stating, “It’s gonna be delicious.” (Scripps News) "We can't deny that being unexpectedly separated, especially during the holidays when the entire family gets together, brings increased yearnings to share the time and events together," his wife, Deanna Wilmore, told the AP in a text this week. Her husband "has it worse than us" since he's confined to the space station and can only connect via video for short periods. "We are certainly looking forward to February!!" she wrote. EXCLUSIVE: One of Japan ‘s leading talent agencies is betting big on short-form drama. Yoshimoto Kogyo , which reps some of the nation’s biggest comedians and actors, has joined with Fany Corporation on a new vertical short drama app titled Fany D – kicking off with 15 projects and targeting 50 per year. Audiences can watch an initial set of one-to-three minute drama series for free but have to pay if they want to watch more. The app’s creators will seek to turn some projects into webtoons and longer TV dramas. Yoshimoto has tied with Fany Corp , NTT Docomo Studio, and Live Inc. and Minto Inc on the short projects. Yoshimoto talent including Hoshida Hidetoshi, Cocorico Tanaka Naoki, Robert Yamamoto Hiroshi, Fruit Punch Murakami Takeshi, Hyokkorihan, Nelsons Wada Manju, Kawaretei Iwakura and Soitsu Doitsu Ichikawa Sashimi appear in the initial works. Projects include the likes of Stolen Life: The Other Me, Immoral – the Real Identity of Popular Model is the Devil and Apparently I’m having an Affair... about an amnesia sufferer who can’t work out if he’s cheated on his wife. Fany D comes four years after Jeffrey Katzenberg’s short-form bet Quibi shut down. The well-trailed platform made a range of short-form dramas and unscripted shows with talent like Idris Elba, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Lopez but failed to catch on, partly due to the unfortunate timing of launching as an on-the-go streamer at the start of the pandemic when the world ceased being able to travel. Four years on, Fany also said it is developing an AI technology that will allow it to create new original shorts inspired by comedians and localize them overseas. The move could create an additional revenue stream for one of Japan’s oldest talent agencies. Yoshimoto CEO Akihiko Okamoto praised the “vertically integrated” nature of the Fany D app, allowing Yoshimoto talent the opportunity to star in short projects and for the agency to develop IP further down the line. Okamoto recently spoke alongside Amazon international originals boss James Farrell at MIPCOM about LOL: Last One Laughing, the hit Amazon format that originated with Yoshimoto titled Documental . LOL: Last One Laughing is now in 20 territories including the UK, Ireland, South Africa and Australia, hosted around the world by the likes of Trevor Noah, Rebel Wilson and Graham Norton. Okamoto told us talks with U.S. buyers are ongoing. Yoshimoto is also behind slapstick gameshow comedy Freeze, a recent Deadline Global Breakout .
The recently retired Andy Murray is going to team up with longtime rival Novak Djokovic as his coach, they both announced Saturday, with plans to prepare for — and work together through — the Australian Open in January. It was a stunning bit of news as tennis moves toward its offseason, a pairing of two of the most successful and popular players in the sport, both of whom are sometimes referred to as members of a so-called Big Four that also included Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Djokovic is a 24-time Grand Slam champion who has spent more weeks at No. 1 than any other player in tennis history. Murray won three major trophies and two Olympic singles gold medals and finished 2016 atop the ATP rankings. He ended his playing career after the Paris Summer Games in August. Both men are 37 and were born a week apart in May 1987. They started facing each other as juniors and wound up meeting 36 times as professionals, with Djokovic holding a 25-11 advantage. “We played each other since we were boys — 25 years of being rivals, of pushing each other beyond our limits. We had some of the most epic battles in our sport. They called us game-changers, risk-takers, history-makers,” Djokovic posted on social media over photos and videos from some of their matches. “I thought our story may be over. Turns out, it has one final chapter. It’s time for one of my toughest opponents to step into my corner. Welcome on board, Coach — Andy Murray.” Djokovic's 2024 season is over, and it was not up to his usual, high standards. He didn't win a Grand Slam trophy; his only title, though, was meaningful to him: a gold medal for Serbia in singles at the Summer Games. Djokovic has been without a full-time coach since splitting in March from Goran Ivanisevic. “I’m going to be joining Novak’s team in the offseason, helping him to prepare for the Australian Open," Murray said in a statement released by his management team. "I’m really excited for it and looking forward to spending time on the same side of the net as Novak for a change, helping him to achieve his goals.” Their head-to-head series on tour includes an 11-8 lead for Djokovic in finals, and 8-2 at Grand Slam tournaments. Djokovic beat Murray four times in the Australian Open final alone — in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2016. Two of the most important victories of Murray's career came with Djokovic on the other side of the net. One was in the 2012 U.S. Open final, when Murray claimed his first Grand Slam title. The other was in the 2013 Wimbledon final, when Murray became the first British man in 77 years to win the singles championship at the All England Club. Next year's Australian Open starts on Jan. 12.Ball security, rebounding key for CU Buffs in rematch against No. 3 Iowa State
Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen has been a revelation this year. Coen, in his first year with the team, has done yeoman's work in turning one of the worst running teams in the NFL for years into one of the best in the league in 2024. How well has he done? He's managed to get the Bucs into the top 10 in the league in both rushing and passing offense. That's never been done before in Tampa Bay since the stats became trackable, per FOX Sports' Greg Auman. One thing Liam Coen has brought to the Bucs offense is a rare balance -- Tampa Bay is 10th in rushing yards per game, 10th in passing yards per game. NFL has rankings going back to 1990, and Bucs have never finished in the top 10 in both in same year in that range (likely never). Naturally - and unfortunately for Tampa Bay fans - that's meant Coen has gotten some rumblings throughout the year about being a potential head coaching candidate in the offseason. That didn't stop in the Wednesday column from NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, who included Coen among his list of coaches who could be getting head coaching looks soon. Pelissero had the following to say about Coen: A former UMass quarterback who still holds school passing records, Coen spent a season in the arena league before going into coaching, where his résumé in recent years has been unique. He had two stints each with the Rams (2018-20, 2022) and the University of Kentucky (2021, 2023) before replacing Panthers head coach Dave Canales as Tampa Bay's OC this past offseason. The Buccaneers' offense has improved statistically, ranking fifth in scoring (27.9 points per game) despite Tampa's ongoing four-game losing streak amidst injuries to its top receivers. Coen has the demeanor and personality for a head job. He may get a look. It's not just the fact that the team has been productive on the field - and they obviously have been. It's been how he's managed to keep dialing up plays and concepts despite losing both of his top wide receivers. Some coordinators might have been satisfied to jam his offense down the throats of whatever reserve players might be stepping in, and that approach sometimes doesn't work. Simply put, some guys can't do what others can, and that's especially the case with stars like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. However, the Bucs have strong talent elsewhere, particularly with budding star tight end Cade Otton and a room full of talented running backs. The calls made to get them involved in the passing game the last few weeks have been nothing short of genius. They've been effective to keep the offense going and scoring enough points to win some games that the Bucs have lost because of issues on the other side of the ball. Depending on how the 2024 season plays out, the Bucs could have a whale of a decision on their hands. Todd Bowles now has a losing record as a head coach with the Bucs despite the team winning the division the last two years. Coen will likely attract significant interest around the league. The Glazer family and general manager Jason Licht will have to decide if they have had enough of the status quo, or if they're ready to try to hand the reins to their franchise over to an innovative coach on the rise and keep him from leaving the building. The Gophers men’s basketball team overwhelmed Morgan State 90-68 on Sunday, but it was the final bullet point on how underwhelming Minnesota’s nonconference schedule has been this season. The Gophers (8-5) have a “strength of resume” ranked 156th in the nation, according to ESPN on Sunday. And Minnesota’s spot in the overall NET ranking (155) won’t improve come Monday, not with a win over a Morgan State team ranked nearly 200 spots lower at 353. ADVERTISEMENT Minnesota was a 22-point favorite and received a huge 22-point first half from Mike Mitchell to win easily in its final tune-up before Big Ten play resumes Thursday at home versus Purdue. Gophers head coach Ben Johnson in August expressed the difficulty to balance the competitiveness of the nonconference slate with who’s available to book and what’s best for this year’s team. “Sometimes the hardest thing for fans to grasp fully is so much of it is a numbers game,” Johnson said at the Minnesota State Fair. “It’s a give and take. You don’t know your team fully and you don’t know the other teams. Sometimes you can roll the dice and go with a team that, quote, might not have the name, but you know will be really good in their league, where if you play a Power Five team and they aren’t good in their league, the game means nothing. It’s great to have a name (opponent), but if they finish bottom four, the numbers go down.” Minnesota joined a multi-team, neutral-site event in Orlando around Thanksgiving but lost both games, to Wichita State and Wake Forest. They also lost to North Texas at The Barn earlier in November. Those three teams each have NET rankings in the Top 80. “There are a couple (of games) that we wish we had back,” Johnson said of the overall nonconference schedule. “Obviously Wichita State still stings. You feel like if you had a healthy Mike and play in the North Texas game. ... But when you have a new team, so much of it is hitting adversity and being able to figure it out.” While Morgan State (6-10) won’t help the U’s resume, the win should aid confidence before facing a Boilermakers team picked in preseason to win the Big Ten come March. Morgan State, which lost by 61 points to Xavier and by 27 to No. 3 Iowa State, played Sunday without leading scorers Winston Tabbs (16.1 points per game) and Amahrie Simpkins (12.7). Minnesota staked a 55-37 lead at the half on the back of Mitchell’s perfection. He made all eight jump shots, including six 3-pointers, for 22 points; that total bested his previous U high of 20 points against Ball State last season. Mitchell missed both of his two shots in the second half and sat during garbage time, falling one point short of his career-high while with Pepperdine in 2022. ADVERTISEMENT “I think it kind of built into that,” Mitchell said. “Teammates found me when I was open and the ball went in.” How did it feel once he finally missed? “Dang,” he said. The Gophers’ poorer start to this season came with Mitchell sidelined for seven games with a high ankle sprain — including all three defeats — and his return is vital as the U looks to dig out of an early 0-2 hole in conference play next week. Dawson Garcia added 18 points and eight rebounds, while Parker Fox chipped in 11 points as Minnesota used 11 players. Frank Mitchell returned Sunday after missing the Dec. 21 win over Farleigh Dickinson while in concussion protocol. He scored 10 points in 11 minutes on Sunday. “You want to come off (the holiday) break and have a little bit of momentum going into January,” Johnson said. “I think we did that.” ______________________________________________________ This story was written by one of our partner news agencies. He was 100 years old and had spent more than a year in hospice care. The Georgia peanut farmer served one turbulent term in the White House before building a reputation as a global humanitarian and champion of democracy. He defeated President Gerald Ford in 1976 promising to restore trust in government but lost to Ronald Reagan four years later amid soaring inflation, gas station lines and the Iran hostage crisis. That is according to National Weather Service meteorologist Frank Pereira. So far, the line of severe weather has led to about 40 tornado reports from southeastern Texas to Alabama, Pereira said, but those reports remain unconfirmed until surveys of damage are completed. Their father says the twins were born one month premature and spent just a day in hospital, which like other Gaza health centers has been overwhelmed and only partially functions. Musk causes uproar for backing Germany's far-right party ahead of key elections BERLIN (AP) — Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk has caused uproar after backing Germany’s far-right party in a major newspaper ahead of key parliamentary elections in the Western European country, leading to the resignation of the paper’s opinion editor in protest. Germany is to vote in an early election on Feb. 23 after Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s three-party governing coalition collapsed last month in a dispute over how to revitalize the country’s stagnant economy. Musk’s guest opinion piece for Welt am Sonntag, published in German over the weekend, was the second time this month he supported the Alternative for Germany, or AfD.

When Jimmy Carter came to Hickory in March 1976, he was one person in a large field of candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for president. U.S. President Jimmy Carter visits Winston-Salem on April 2, 1979. The future president’s visit to the region included a stop in Morganton where he "burst into fluent Spanish to the surprise of a Morganton crowd and accepted a basket of peanuts from a Girl Scout, ‘That are about as good as the ones I grow,’” according to Hickory Daily Record reporting from the time. He then came to Hickory where he addressed a crowd at Lenoir-Rhyne University — then known as Lenoir-Rhyne College — estimated at 1,600 people. The future president received a favorable response from the crowd, particularly after he said: “Don’t vote for me unless you want to see the entire executive branch overhauled completely.” Other topics of Carter’s remarks included a pledge to prevent the damming of the New River and to beat primary rival and Alabama Gov. George Wallace in the North Carolina and Florida primaries, which he would go on to do. Habitat for Humanity of Catwba Valley Executive Director Mitzi Gellman holds a photo of former President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn she took in 2017 in Atlanta during the International Conference for Habitat for Humanity. Gellman credited the former president for helping raise the organization's profile. Mitzi Gellman, now the executive director of Habitat for Humanity of the Catawba Valley, was among the 1,600 people who showed up for the rally. She was a high school student at the time who took photographs of the rally. Gellman spoke about how much pride she took as a 17-year-old in seeing someone from the South leading a serious campaign for president. “I just was fascinated by someone at the time who was from the South running for president,” Gellman said. “I used to tell people, you know, ‘He sounds like us when he talks and I like that.’” President Jimmy Carter speaks to an audience at Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory in March 1976. Another Hickory resident, Doug Auer, also noted the significance of having a candidate from the South. During the 1976 election cycle, Auer was at two events with Carter in his role as a member of the Democratic Party committee of Tompkins County in upstate New York. Steve Neal (D-NC), left, and N.C. Gov. Jim Hunt. Carter made an address in Wait Chapel concerning the threat of the Soviet Union. Auer said people who lived in the Northeast were arrogant about the South. They did not think much about the South and their perceptions were shaped by television shows such as “The Dukes of Hazzard” and “Hee Haw,” he said. He said Carter helped challenge some of those preconceptions. Regarding his own initial impression of seeing Carter, Auer said: “He was articulate. I was like, ‘Wow, didn’t expect that.’" Auer added, “The arrogance of the North still exists to this day. I mean, there’s no question that sort of the anti-elitism of Southern, white, rural Americans is still born out of that age where we didn’t really pay attention.” FILE - Former President Jimmy Carter uses a hand saw to even an edge as he works on a Habitat for Humanity home in Pikeville, Ky., June 16, 1997. Gellman also credited Carter with putting “the mission of Habitat on the map” through his decades-long involvement with the organization. “He’s definitely made just a huge impact on fundraising and visibility, and at the end of the day it’s all about how many houses, how many families can we move from poverty housing to some kind of standardized, decent housing,” Gellman said.
