A double from Erling Haaland – the first from the penalty spot – and a deflected effort from Ilkay Gundogan, all in the space of nine minutes either side of the break, looked to have ensured a return to winning ways. Yet Guardiola was left with his head in hands as Feyenoord roared back in the last 15 minutes with goals from Anis Hadj Moussa, Sergio Gimenez and David Hancko, two of them after Josko Gvardiol errors. City almost snatched a late winner when Jack Grealish hit the woodwork but there was no masking another dispiriting result. It was hardly the preparation City wanted for Sunday’s crunch trip to Liverpool, and the Feyenoord fans took great delight in rubbing that fact in. Grealish had an effort deflected onto the bar but the hosts had to settle for a draw.MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — The Miami Dolphins were ready to deal veteran defensive tackle Calais Campbell to the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the Nov. 5 trade deadline until Mike McDaniel stepped in. “I may or may not have thrown an adult temper tantrum,” Miami's coach said, confirming the news first reported by NFL Network Sunday morning. The Dolphins were 2-6 and had lost three straight at that point. They'd played four uninspired games without their starting quarterback, going 1-3 after Tua Tagovailoa went on injured reserve on Sept. 17 with a concussion. Campbell would have had a chance to rejoin the contending Ravens, and Miami would have received a 2026 fifth-round pick in return, NFL Network reported. McDaniel argued that Campbell was too valuable to lose. “I was happy that they brought me into the conversations," Campbell said after Miami's 34-15 win over the New England Patriots . “They didn't have to say anything to me at all. We had a really good conversation about what we think about this team, where we are. We felt like we had a good shot to get back into the fight.” Added McDaniel: “I think it wasn’t like it was (GM) Chris (Grier) versus me. ... That’s the tricky thing about Chris’ job is he has to look long-term and short-term at the same time, what’s the best for the organization.” Campbell, a 17-year veteran, signed with the Dolphins after playing for Atlanta last season. Players and coaches have praised the 38-year-old's contributions on the field and in the locker room. “There’s no one’s game I’ve come to respect more than Calais up front on the D-line,” defensive tackle Zach Sieler said, “being with him this year and just the energy, the attitude and the mindset he brings every week. It can’t be matched, and that’s the reason why he is who he is today and doing what he’s doing at 17 years.” Campbell leads the team with four sacks. With back-to-back sacks in Weeks 10 and 11, he became the eighth player 38 or older to record sacks in consecutive games since the 1970 merger. He also has nine tackles for loss, giving him at least five tackles for loss in 15 of his 17 seasons. He played for Baltimore from 2020-2022, totaling 11 sacks and 113 tackles. “I think he means a great deal to not only the defensive line room, but the entire defense as well as the entire team,” McDaniel said earlier this week. “It’s rare for a guy to get here when he did, and then be voted, with such conviction, captain. I think the way that he operates to be a pro, I think has had a substantial impact on a lot of players that hadn’t been fortunate enough to be around someone with sustained success like he’s had.” The Dolphins have won three straight games since the deadline. Miami's defense held the Patriots scoreless until the fourth quarter on Sunday. Campbell broke down the team's pregame huddle as he has done before most games this season. He was also seen coaching up rookie linebacker Chop Robinson, who is always seeking pointers from the six-time Pro Bowler. “My job is to speak on behalf of what’s the best thing for the 2024 Dolphins,” McDaniel said. “I’m just fortunate to work in an organization where myself and the GM can be transparent and work together. “And he didn’t want to see any more adult temper tantrums.” AP NFL: https://apnews.com/hub/NFL

Its QD-OLED panel delivers a high-contrast image with vivid colors, wide viewing angles, and impressive brightness for this class. This 32-inch TV only has a 720p HD screen, but at such a small screen size it's hard to see the benefits of a higher resolution. Picture quality here is as basic as it gets, but the 2-Series is a solid option for buyers who want a cheap, compact smart TV for a bedroom or other smaller area. Samsung's Frame TV can be mounted flush against your wall like a hanging piece of art. It also features a matte screen to make it look more like canvas, and you can purchase optional magnetic frame bezels in different colors and designs. The U6N is one of the top budget TVs available. Because it's a multi-retailer event and not just an Amazon-specific one, brands big and small jump on participating. That means incredible low prices not only from Amazon, but also competing stores and its small business sellers. Perhaps most importantly, Black Friday isn't a member-exclusive event, either. Anyone can shop Black Friday sales, whereas Prime Day is locked behind the Prime membership paywall. Unlike Prime Day, Black Friday is not a sale locked only to Prime members. However, we highly recommend considering at least a trial of the subscription service. Members get tons of Amazon Prime benefits , including free two-day shipping. And Prime members can now register early for invite-only deals on popular items like Blink security cameras. It's a way to sweeten the Black Friday shopping experience, especially with holiday stock shortages and shipping delays sure to come. Luckily, first-timers can get a month of Prime for free. If you don't plan on signing up for the service in full, hopping on the trial when it will overlap with Black Friday is a handy way to lock in free shipping for all of your deal shopping. New and eligible returning members can try Prime for 30 days, free. That includes all of the benefits, like two-day shipping and Prime Video access. Hyundai IONIQ 5 Sets New World RecordThanks to their ever-increasing battery capacity, improvements to overall range, and the proliferation of charging infrastructure across the globe, the chances of one getting stranded in an electric car are decreasing every single day. Despite these advancements, however, there is no denying that range anxiety remains an issue among EV users . German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz, seemingly, is working on a new technology that will not only increase the range of future battery-electric cars but will also further reduce the ever-pervasive range anxiety problem. The company's way around this problem, however, is a bit different. Instead of relying simply on larger, higher capacity, and more efficient batteries , Mercedes-Benz's Research and Development team is working on a new type of solar module that could integrate into the body of future cars, turning them, effectively, into a solar panel on four wheels . It is not like this idea hasn't already been tried, as some, might, remember the axed Lightyear 0, solar car . What makes these "in development" solar panels different from the current crop of photovoltaic cells is their extremely thin nature. Besides making them significantly less bulky than today's solar panels, these panels are thin enough to be integrated into the outer paint coating of the car, thereby earning them the name "solar paint." Under normal circumstances, the first point of discussion when talking about solar panels is their capacity, efficiency, and cost. In the case of the Mercedes Solar paint, the discussion first addresses the sheer thinness of the material. At just 5 micrometers, these panels make the average human hair seem like a log of wood. This sheer thinness also makes the material extremely lightweight — with an estimated weight of just 50 grams for every square meter. Additionally, Mercedes also claims that the "under-development" solar paint will be designed to be affixed on all kinds of substrates, making them flexible enough to be used on future electric vehicles. Perhaps the most striking fact about solar paint is the mere addition of this feature on future EVs will ensure that they could juice themselves up without the help of a charger. All these solar paint-toting cars need to do is simply remain outside in the parking lot while the car replenishes the battery using power from the Sun. Mercedes claims that these in-development solar cells will be designed to showcase a high-efficiency figure of 20%, which on a vehicle covering 118.4 square feet of space — the size of a modern-day mid-size SUV — could produce enough electricity to eke an additional 7,456 miles from the car without ever having to charge it. It is pertinent to note that despite being coated with solar paint, the primary means of charging future EVs will continue to be via electric chargers. Solar paint — at least the ones in development currently — is simply not powerful enough to juice up cars from 0 to 100%. If you are all gung-ho about the prospect of getting to test a Mercedes vehicle clad in solar paint, well, here's the all-important catch. In fact, this is not even a catch, given that we had already indicated that Mercedes' Research and Development team is still actively working on this project. This, unfortunately, also means that cars clad in solar paint are still science fiction stuff and are several years away from becoming reality. Nevertheless, given Mercedes-Benz's long and eventful history as one of the world's oldest surviving car brands, the company has a strong focus on innovation and research and development. In fact, the company can be attributed to kickstarting the modern-day automobile industry with its first-ever car, introduced in 1886. Since then, Mercedes has made several contributions to the world of automobiles, including innovations like supercharged engines, four-wheel independent suspension, the crumple zone, anti-lock braking system, electronic stability program, and the now common smart key. With such a long, verified, and established history of research and development and successful products coming out of such research, there is a realistic possibility of Mercedes-Benz' solar paint eventually becoming commonplace on electric cars of the future.
David Bonderman, a lawyer and investor who managed money for one of the richest families in Texas, helped create one of the giants of the private-equity business and pushed to bring professional hockey to Seattle, died Wednesday. He was 82. Asset management firm TPG, which Bonderman co-founded, the Seattle Kraken, Bonderman's family and his Wildcat Capital Management investment company announced his death. For much of his career, Bonderman kept a low profile in public, rarely granting interviews with news organizations. He concentrated on corporate takeovers and other investments, many of which were highly profitable. Forbes magazine estimated his wealth at $6.5 billion in March 2023. "Rarely the loudest person in the room, but often the smartest, David remained humble, once saying that his personal strength was ‘Not knowing a lot about something but knowing enough to make a decent decision,’” a statement from his family and companies said. Born in Los Angeles on Nov. 27, 1942, Bonderman attended the University of Washington and Harvard Law School, from which he graduated in 1966. After a stint teaching law at Tulane University, he joined the U.S. Justice Department in the late 1960s, then in 1971 became a partner and expert in corporate and securities law at Arnold & Porter, a high-powered Washington, D.C., law firm. In 1983, he went to work for the Robert M. Bass Group investment company in Fort Worth, Texas. With money from the Bass family, which traced its wealth to the exploits of Texas oil wildcatter Sid Richardson, Bonderman and partner Jim Coulter made several leveraged buyouts in the 1980s, including a hugely profitable investment in Continental Airlines. Bonderman and Coulter started Texas Pacific Group in 1992. According to its website, the private-equity firm now known as TPG manages $239 billion in assets and has invested in industries that include health care, technology and business services. The firm was a major early investor in short-term rental site Airbnb and music streaming service Spotify. Bonderman served on several corporate and philanthropic boards. In 2017, he resigned from the Uber board hours after an employee meeting on sexism at the ride-hailing company. When fellow director Arianna Huffington said data showed that having one woman on the board made it more likely a second would be added, Bonderman interjected, “Actually, what it shows is that it’s much more likely to be more talking.” He later apologized. In politics, Bonderman was a longtime backer of former Texas governor and Republican President George W. Bush but flipped to support Democrat John Kerry in the 2004 presidential election. He famously told The Wall Street Journal that Bush was “a really good guy” but had divided the country. “He’s turning out to be the worst president since Millard Fillmore — and that’s probably an insult to Millard Fillmore,” Bonderman said. With his wealth from TPG, Bonderman purchased a minority stake in the Boston Celtics and was a member of the group holding a majority interest in the Seattle Kraken, an expansion team in the National Hockey League. Bonderman also threw lavish birthday parties. The Rolling Stones played at his 60th birthday bash, and former Beatle Paul McCartney headlined his 70th birthday soiree. Both events were in Las Vegas. His survivors include five children and three grandchildren.

They work to celebrate the artist born Tim Bergling, capturing his early life, the songs that made him an idiosyncratic talent, his insatiable curiosity and hunger for reinvention, and the people he left behind. Miraculously, Bergling himself narrates a lot of the film - pulled from archival interviews and some never before published. Capturing Avicii's life and career was no easy feat, director Henrik Burman told The Associated Press. The project took half-a-decade, beginning before the pandemic and only about a year-and-half after Bergling's death. Burman's interviews were long and many. AP: The structure is compelling; it really focuses on Avicii's life and his biggest songs that shifted genre - you avoid casting his career as "it was the 2010s and EDM was massive." There's a lot of research. BURMAN: I had access to a lot of material... I was looking for clues all the time... I've watched so, so many hours of, you know, interviews with Tim just to see, "OK, he says this again. And it was like the eighth time that year. OK. That should be important." ... It was kind of a puzzle and yeah, it was huge research work. There's a story in the film, in the beginning, from (when) he is a kid. He tells a story to the interviewer. And he says, "When I was a kid, I wasn't like a really nice person. For a few years, I was kind of bullying people. And I was around 6 or 7. And after a while I realized that people didn't like me, so after a summer, I was thinking about this, and I decided, 'I need to change... and see what happens.' And then people liked me again." And when he told that story, he was like, "That's a really important story. That's a story that needs to be in a documentary, if it's ever a documentary about me, because that says so much about me as a person." I was trying to find clues and stories and listen and... early on, I was quite sure that I wanted to tell the story from Miami Ultra (Music Festival) and what happened there. That was kind of a key moment for me, and that was a huge key moment for Tim. But when I realized that this... needs to be the center of my story, at the midpoint for my story, I realized that I had something to hold on to. AP: The childhood story reflects his interest in creative transformation, too. How do you aim to capture his spirit and not center his death? BURMAN: That is hard. I have from the beginning... tried to explain my vision for this film... But I reached out to a lot of friends, and of course his family, and I got their blessing. Here's why fans think the US series is not ending When I got this kind of group of people that said "yes" to being in the film that I could start to ask more questions and have deeper conversations. But again, we needed time... I wanted to work gently, that was very important. AP: And you have footage of Tim in the womb! It is very different than what could've very easily been an exploitative version of the film. BURMAN: I wanted to make an intimate and personal story and not speculate... to find the right tone, you need time. And since we started work... one, one-and-a-half years after Tim passed, I just knew that we needed time. And, of course, people around Tim needed a lot of time. AP: What is Avicii's legacy? BURMAN: You can answer that question in so many ways. But if you're talking about the music, and the music that he produced and wrote, he was so much ahead of his time, I would say. And you can hear the legacy of Avicii in the music today. You can hear it in the production in new music and hits from today. If you listen to the music - go back and listen to the music now that he released like 10 years ago, it sounds so fresh, modern, and I would say timeless. AP: What do you hope viewers take away from this film? BURMAN: Someone said to me that the film is so much about Tim, but at the same time, it's so kind of universal. And I thought that was beautiful because life is not simple. There are no easy answers. And everything is complex and multilayered. So, that's what I aim to contribute to Tim's story. And I also really hope that even the most hardcore fans get a new, fresh perspective of Tim as a person and Avicii as an artist. (You can now subscribe to our Economic Times WhatsApp channel )
NoneNew Delhi, Nov 23 (IANS): The BJP-led NDA (MahaYuti) secured a massive victory in Maharashtra, largely due to the trust voters placed in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and leadership. The schemes and promises PM Modi highlighted during his rallies resonated deeply with the electorate, contributing to the BJP's strong performance in the assembly elections. However, the success of this campaign can also be attributed to the strategic efforts of Union Ministers Bhupender Yadav and Ashwini Vaishnaw. These two leaders played a crucial role in translating the PM’s message into action, ensuring it reached every corner of Maharashtra. They worked tirelessly to organise rallies, facilitate meetings with party workers, and engage with the public directly. The key schemes shared by the Prime Minister were effectively communicated to the masses in a simplified and relatable manner, thanks to the strategic approach devised and executed by Yadav and Vaishnaw. Their efforts ensured that the BJP’s message was reflected not just in speeches but at the grassroots level, making a significant impact on the electorate ahead of the assembly elections. It is said that they were the quieter architects behind what led to the BJP-led Mahayuti’s sweeping victory in the Maharashtra assembly elections. They helped the BJP-led ruling alliance storm back to power once again. Despite remaining largely out of sight for the public during the campaign or rallies, their strategic roles were crucial in securing the party's success in the key state of Maharashtra where the Lok Sabha results in June were not good news for BJP. Both Yadav and Vaishnaw, entrusted with the roles of in-charge and co-incharge respectively for the Maharashtra elections, played a crucial behind-the-scenes role, steering the party’s efforts from the shadows. Remarkably absent from public rallies and from media glare, the duo worked diligently, skillfully and efficiently to ensure that the BJP's strategy was effectively implemented at every level. When Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the BJP’s manifesto in Mumbai on November 10, Yadav and Vaishnaw were nowhere to be seen on the dais as was expected. They were seen in the audience then. However, their absence from the spotlight did not undermine their significant influence. They continued to work in the direction of reaching out to party workers and other supporters, sharing the required guidance and strategic inputs to strengthen the BJP's position. They worked meticulously to counter the caste and social engineering of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. They were instrumental in addressing key challenges, which included countering the strategies of the opposition MVA and maintaining party unity by resolving internal dissent. Their success in Maharashtra reminds one of their earlier performances in Madhya Pradesh, where they helped the BJP win decisively despite anti-incumbency sentiment. The BJP leadership recognised their skills and talents after their successful handling of the Madhya Pradesh election, where their strategic prowess paved the way for a victory in a state where many expected the BJP to hardly sail through. In view of this track record, the BJP entrusted them with Maharashtra in the month of June, and once again, they delivered results that exceeded expectations.
