Arogo Capital Acquisition Corp. Announces Binding Letter of Intent with Bangkok Tellink Co., Ltd, a Provider of Innovative Telecommunications and IoT Solutions, in Connection with a Proposed Business Combination TransactionAUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Any Texas or Texas A&M player has heard the lore of the rivalry between the two schools, a grudge match that dates to 1894. But for more than a decade — two generations of college football players — that's all it has been: Ghostly memories of great games and great plays made by heroes of the distant past. That changes this week when one of college football's great rivalries is reborn. Third-ranked Texas (10-1, 6-1) and No. 20 Texas A&M (8-3, 5-2) meet Saturday night for the first time since 2011, with a berth in the Southeastern Conference championship game on the line . “Guys that have been in my position and bleed burnt orange, they have not gotten to play this game,” said Texas fourth-year junior safety Michael Taaffe, who grew up in Austin. “Remember them when you step on Kyle Field.” For Aggies fans, who have carried the misery of Texas' 27-25 win in 2011, getting the Longhorns back in front of a frenzied crowd in College Station is a chance for some serious payback. “I was born and raised an Aggie, so I’ve been dreaming about playing in this game my whole life,” Texas A&M offensive lineman Trey Zuhn III said. Zuhn played high school football in Colorado, but his parents and grandparents attended A&M. At SEC media days back in August, Zuhn said his family would turn Texas gear upside down in stores. He keeps a picture of a longhorn in his room, hanging upside down, of course. “It should be the most amazing atmosphere that I’ve ever experienced,” Zuhn said. "I can’t wait for that, and I feel bad for Texas having to play in that." Texas players said they are ready. “That place is going to be rocking,” Texas senior cornerback Jahdae Barron said. “It's good to go on the road and play in hostile environments.” The Longhorns have overcome big and loud road crowds before. They won at Alabama in 2023. They won at Michigan and Arkansas, another old rival, this year. The Longhorns have won 10 in a row on an opponent’s home field. “When the hate is on us, we love it. We enjoy it,” Taaffe said. But some former Texas players say the current group has faced nothing like what awaits them in College Station. Playing at Texas A&M is more than just noise and a lot of “Horns down” hand signals. The “Aggie War Hymn” fight song calls for Aggies to “Saw varsity’s horns off." Beating Texas is their passion, said former Longhorns All-American offensive lineman Dan Neil, who won at Texas A&M in in 1995. He calls that win one of the best of his career. “I was done showering and getting ready to leave, and their fans were still standing outside the locker room screaming and throwing things,” he said. “The (Texas) players have no idea what they are walking into. They have no clue. No one on that team has walked into that stadium in burnt orange.” The rivalry broke up when Texas A&M left the Big 12 for the SEC in 2012. The Aggies have twice finished tied for second but have otherwise found little success there. Texas is in its first year in the SEC and has smashed its way to the top. Texas is the only SEC team with one loss this late in the season, which would make beating Texas that much sweeter for A&M. “The hype is definitely saying it's a rivalry. History says it's a rivalry, but for us, it's the football game we have this week,” Texas senior center Jake Majors said. “It's important for us to not let the environment, the game, get the best of us. ... I get to go out there and play not only for me and my team, but for the guys who came before me, so that's a true honor to have.” Even though the game hasn't been played since 2011, there has always been an element of the rivalry simmering under the surface, Texas A&M coach Mike Elko said. Elko is in his first year as the Aggies' coach, but he was the Texas A&M defensive coordinator under Jimbo Fisher from 2018-2021. “Even though it hasn’t been played, it just doesn’t feel like it’s ever really left the fabric. I really don’t think it’s as removed from the psyche as maybe it feels,” Elko said. “I think our kids are very much aware of what this is all about.” Rieken reported from College Station, Texas. How to save money on chocolate We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don't have to break the bank buying your favourite bar. Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs... Go own brand - if you're not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you'll save by going for the supermarket's own brand bars. Shop around - if you've spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it's cheaper elsewhere. Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you're getting the best deal. Look out for yellow stickers - supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they've been reduced. They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged. Buy bigger bars - most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar. So if you've got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Rams have claimed cornerback Emmanuel Forbes off waivers from Washington. The Rams (6-6) announced the move Monday. They waived undrafted rookie defensive back Charles Woods to make room on the roster. Forbes was the 16th overall draft pick in 2023, but the Commanders released him Saturday in yet another latest flop for their first-round selections under former coach Ron Rivera. Forbes started 10 games as a rookie, but the Mississippi State product got benched during the season — and his playing time dwindled to almost nothing under new coach Dan Quinn this season. Forbes was considered undersized to be an elite NFL defensive back before Washington used a first-round pick on him, and his play did little to discourage that perception. But the Rams are taking a flier on Forbes to help their mediocre pass defense. Darious Williams, a member of the Rams' Super Bowl championship team who returned to Los Angeles this season as a free agent, has been their best cover corner, but he struggled in Sunday's victory over New Orleans. Third-year pro Cobie Durant has started all 12 games this season with one interception. Los Angeles already traded Tre'Davious White, its other major offseason signing at cornerback, after the former Pro Bowler failed to perform. The Rams shipped White to Baltimore for a seventh-round pick swap last month. Woods has played in nine games for the Rams, appearing mostly on special teams. Los Angeles hosts Buffalo on Sunday. The Chinese military claims it has developed a new radar-defeating coating that can hide targets from anti-stealth radar. The coating can absorb low-frequency electromagnetic waves (EM) and is only paper-thin. According to the Chinese military, the new coating can absorb EM waves from various angles, revolutionizing stealth technology. Existing radar-absorbing materials for stealth aircraft are effective for some, but not all, EM waves used by radar equipment. In fact, this is exactly how an F-117A “Nighthawk” was detected and shot down in the late 1990s in Yugoslavia. Radar installations use a mixture of centimeter- to meter-long wavelength EM waves to detect targets like incoming aircraft. Current stealth technology can divert or even absorb some of these waves, reducing an aircraft’s radar signature. China’s new paper-thin anti-stealth coating Interestingly, this is just the latest in a flurry of new “anti-stealth” innovations made by the Chinese in recent years. Back in February of this year, for example, it was reported that China had developed a new “plasma” stealth device that can effectively cloak an aircraft from radar. It is also not the first anti-radar coating developed by China for hiding aircraft from radar. In August of this year, China also claimed to have developed a new cheap iron-coating camouflage to defeat radar and infrared detection equipment. According to reports , the new material was developed by China’s National University of Defence Technology (NUDT). This material can allegedly convert electromagnetic waves with wavelengths ranging from 70 cm (2.3 feet) to 20 cm into heat. This range of wavelengths is important as they fall within common anti-stealth P-band and L-band radar systems. According to reports, this new material is lightweight, flexible, and easy to produce in large quantities. If true, this would make it suitable for covering aircraft or other weapon platforms requiring stealth capabilities. The scientists involved in the project stated their work “does not violate the fundamental laws of physics.” “Emerging artificial composite materials, through periodic or aperiodic arrangements, exhibit unusual properties and can achieve physical phenomena and applications that natural materials cannot,” wrote the project team led by Cui Kaibo, a researcher with the State Key Laboratory of Complex Electromagnetic Environment Effects on Electronics and Information System. Metamaterials are the secret sauce The researchers’ findings were published in a peer-reviewed paper published in the Chinese language journal Telecommunication Engineering in October. According to the paper, metamaterials are the “secret sauce” of the new stealth coating. According to the research team, when low-frequency EM waves strike the coating, they generate currents on the surface of the metal foil layer. These currents can be converted into heat, which is then rapidly dissipated into the air, effectively reducing radar waves’ return signatures. This is exactly how other existing radar-absorbing materials work, but the Chinese coating’s thinness is what makes it stand out. Existing radar-absorbing material thicknesses are not publically disclosed, but a recently developed ceramic-based coating has been reported to be 1.5 mm thick , which is considerably thicker than a sheet of paper (around 0.1 mm for 20lb printer paper). According to the Chinese researchers, their new technology provides exceptional ultra-wideband low-frequency stealth capabilities without relying on heavy and costly magnetic materials. This makes the material economical and scalable for use on various military equipment. According to Cui and his team, this new metamaterial technology may become “the key for China to win future wars.”Mohamed Salah’s landmark goal pulls Liverpool clear in Champions League
