His threat was directed at countries in the so-called BRIC alliance, which consists of Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates. Turkey, Azerbaijan and Malaysia have applied to become members and several other countries have expressed interest in joining. While the U.S. dollar is by far the most-used currency in global business and has survived past challenges to its preeminence, members of the alliance and other developing nations say they are fed up with America’s dominance of the global financial system. Trump, in a Truth Social post, said: “We require a commitment from these Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty U.S. Dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs, and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful U.S. Economy.” At a summit of BRIC nations in October, Russian President Vladimir Putin accused the U.S. of “weaponizing” the dollar and described it as a “big mistake.” “It’s not us who refuse to use the dollar,” Putin said at the time. “But if they don’t let us work, what can we do? Forbes was considered undersized to be an elite NFL defensive back before Washington used a first-round pick on him, and his play did little to discourage that perception. But the Rams are taking a flier on Forbes to help their mediocre pass defense. ORONO, Maine (AP) — Michael McNair scored 16 points to lead Boston University and Malcolm Chimezie sealed the victory with a layup with 20 seconds left as the Terriers took down Maine 59-56 on Sunday. McNair also had six rebounds for the Terriers (6-7). Kyrone Alexander scored 13 points and added five rebounds. Chimezie shot 4 of 7 from the field and 0 for 3 from the line to finish with eight points. Kellen Tynes led the way for the Black Bears (8-7) with 17 points, four assists and three steals. Maine also got 12 points from Christopher Mantis. Quion Burns had eight points. McNair scored seven points in the first half and Boston University went into halftime trailing 27-19. Alexander scored a team-high 10 points for Boston University in the second half. Boston University outscored Maine by 11 points over the final half. Boston University's next game is Thursday against Lafayette on the road, and Maine visits Bryant on Saturday. The programme, which commenced in Chamarajanagar district on Saturday as a pilot scheme, enables the public to observe, examine, and provide feedback on the breakfast and lunch served to students in the department's educational facilities. Bidar is another district where this pilot scheme is launched. Chamarajanagar district houses 22 residential schools and 56 hostels operated by the department. Wardens at these facilities are tasked with uploading photographs of daily meals. Parents and the public can access information about the meals at any time. The department has activated an X account and website - https://foodswdgok.in/ - for public access to view daily meal details from the hostels and residential schools. The pilot scheme includes uploading photographs of all three daily meals for public scrutiny. The system aims to ensure transparency regarding student facilities. The initiative provides public access to various aspects, including meal quality, hostel and dormitory hygiene standards, and biometric attendance records. This represents a new approach to demonstrate accountability in govt-run residential schools and hostels regarding meal quality and student welfare. "This website is also monitored by the central office of the department. The department has a system of extending greater responsibility for the welfare and transparency of students through govt institutions," said social welfare minister HC Mahadevappa. "Chamarajanagar and Bidar districts have been selected for a pilot project where the public can view the breakfast and lunch services provided in the hostels and residential quarters of the social welfare department through the website and its X account.
