Trump brings back government by social mediaRutgers may be the 24th-best-ranked college in the recent AP Top 25 poll, but watching them this season is as exciting as it gets. The program never had a player picked in the top 5 in the NBA draft. Their record currently holds James Bailey, who was drafted sixth overall by the Seattle SuperSonics in 1979. This year, they have two players who might break that feat. One of them is their 6'6" guard, Dylan Harper. He has been phenomenal in his four games since joining the Scarlet Knights. His stat line of 19.5 points per game, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.3 assists while shooting 53.8% from the field is one of the reasons why Rutgers is still unbeaten. The freshman has been commanding that offense with poise, and he looked at his best right when they needed that from him - when his co-star Ace Bailey was out with an injury. Even though Harper is predicted as a top-3 pick by a lot of analysts, Bailey's stock is even higher, and it looks like he might challenge Cooper Flagg for that No. 1 pick in next year's NBA draft. Bailey is also a freshman whose debut was a little later, as he missed the first two games with a minor injury. All-around game dazzles in early season showings In his first appearance for the team, he played 30 minutes, scoring 17 points and 6 boards, paired up with a couple of steals and one block. His 5-of-10 shooting from the field and 1-of-3 from the deep doesn't paint the whole picture. The 6'10" forward scored some impressive shots, which evoked memories of some of the NBA legends. Ace Bailey is going to give Cooper Flagg a competitive run for the No. 1 overall pick. Not many prospects have this type of shot-making ability to go with Bailey’s physical traits. Many NBA executives believe Bailey is in a similar tier as Flagg. pic.twitter.com/NlJ0fAqbJY His second game was even better. In a 63-74 win against the Merrimack Warriors, Rutgers' No. 4 scored 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting. He also shot 2-of-4 from the three-point range and had 10 rebounds and one block in 33 minutes on the floor. During the game, Bailey had one outstanding turnaround midrange while he was double-teamed. It seems he scores those with ease, but his game isn't one-dimensional. Rutgers' stud is a 3-level scorer who is slowly changing people's thoughts on the upcoming draft. "This is my first time saying this this season, so I Don't wanna hear it... but bro, look like the #1 PICK RN," Frankie Vision, who has 110 thousand Instagram followers, wrote alongside Bailey's highlight video on X. "Ace Bailey, to me, and I'm not saying he is, but he's got a little Kevin Durant in his game," former Virginia Tech head coach Seth Greenberg said . "He really does—his release point, how he creates separation, how he moves around the court, his feel. He's special." And the comparison couldn't be more on point because Ace said the same thing. "Kevin Durant, Paul George, and Jayson Tatum," he answered when asked about the players he models his game after. "And I'd say [Tracy McGrady], too. T-Mac. ... They create shots and put their teammates in situations that they know they can succeed in -- and they [know how to] step up and be a leader." Still, he has already been drawing comparisons to some of the best scorers in history. While his handles and separation-making aren't on Durant's level, there are some similarities in their games, which is ultimately the reason why everyone is so hyped up about him.
