Clemson holds their fate in their own hands with a matchup against South Carolina this week. That would be a strong win that should push Clemson into the playoff if any team above them either loses or struggles in any of their final games. Alabama, meanwhile, has a tougher road to the playoff. After their embarrassing loss to Oklahoma, it will be hard for the selection committee to put the in that 12-team pool. With only Auburn left on their schedule, the Crimson Tide will likely need multiple teams above them to collapse in order for them to sneak into the CFP. Tuesday, Nov. 26 8 p.m. ET ESPN The College Football Playoff rankings are released each week through a CFP rankings show broadcasted by ESPN every Tuesday, from Nov. 5 through Dec. 3. This week's show is slated to air starting at 8 p.m. ET and ending at 9 p.m. ET. This season, there are 12 teams in the College Football Playoff for the first time. College football previously introduced the CFP in 2014 with a four-team format. The expansion to 12 teams is set in place for the 2024 and 2025 college football seasons. Leaders within the sport have not agreed to the framework of the playoff beyond that at this point. The 12 participating teams in the College Football Playoff bracket will be the five conference champions ranked highest by the CFP selection committee, and the next seven highest-ranked teams. The four highest-ranked conference champions will be seeded one through four and receive a first-round bye. The fifth conference champion will be seeded where it was ranked among the top 12 teams, or at No. 12 if it is outside the top 12 in the CFP rankings. Non-conference champions ranked in the top four will be seeded beginning at No. 5. "Because of this," , "the seeding, 1 through 12, could look different than the final rankings." For the first round, the higher-ranked team in each pairing (5 vs. 12, 6 vs. 11, 7 vs. 10, 8 vs. 9) will serve as host on campus. The winners advance to the quarterfinals and match up with the corresponding top-four conference champion based on seeding. Quarterfinal games will played at the Fiesta Bowl, Peach Bowl, Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The semifinals – played at the Orange Bowl and Cotton Bowl Classic – will take place Jan. 9-10. The two semifinal winners will play for the national championship Jan. 20 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The rules concern how much people can make in interest before having to file a self-assessment and pay tax on it. Responding to a query from a customer on a popular social media platform, X, who wanted to know whether they had made enough to pay tax, HMRC cleared up the situation. The person had asked if they would need to fill in a self-assessment tax return if they were earning more than £2,000 a year in interest. HMRC explained it would need to be over £10,000, depending on the type of account. The tax authority replied: “If you have more than £10,000 from dividends or savings and interest, you would need to complete a self-assessment tax return.” Speaking on ISA, the HMRC noted that the account is tax-free, including some NS&I accounts. “If you have an Individual Savings Account (ISA), this is tax-free as well as some National Savings and Investment (NS&I) accounts.” According to Express, people can save up to £20,000 a year in ISAs with no tax to pay on the amount. It explained further with the rules, savers get a starting rate allowing them to earn £5,000 in interest each year without paying tax on it, but this reduces by £1 for each £1 you earn above your personal allowance, of £12,570. Those on the basic rate of income tax can earn up to £1,000 a year in interest tax-free, which drops to £500 if you are on the higher rate and then to £0 for those on the additional rate. NS&I customers with Premium Bonds also have no tax to pay on any prizes they win in the monthly draw, and NS&I has a Direct ISA and a Junior ISA. Dogara backs tax reform bills, tackles governorsSOMERVILLE, N.J. , Nov. 23, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Specified Technologies Inc. has announced their latest Firestop Clash Management (FCM) and Firestop Locator (FSL) releases. FCM automates the process of locating and assigning firestop solutions to conditions within Autodesk ® Revit ® , enabling firestop novices to find firestop solutions like a firestop expert. In this latest release, STI has further expanded the capabilities of FCM by integrating it with their firestop documentation and compliance tool, Firestop Locator (FSL). FSL enables contractors and facilities' teams to document the status, location, and products used for any and all fire life safety services across a building. In the latest update for FSL, teams can now create custom items to track any service on their project beyond the base six (Penetration, Joint, Extinguisher, Door, Damper, and Barrier). Teams can also modify the base six items to include project specific inspection and maintenance requirements and any other details that they would like to be tracked. With this new integration, decisions made during the design phase of a building using FCM are seamlessly passed into FSL during the construction phase, giving implementation teams a jump start on work to be done. This integration also improves data integrity and eliminates the guesswork in the field of determining what firestop systems and products are to be used where. "We're proud of the latest releases of FCM and FSL and look forward to continuing to support the fire life safety community," says Justin Pine, Sr. Manager of Software & Services. Specified Technologies Inc. promotes life and building safety by developing innovative fire protection systems and accompanying digital tools that help stop the spread of fire, smoke, and hot gases. Our SpecSeal® and EZ Path® product lines are engineered for easy installation and deliver powerful performance, often resulting in lower installed costs. Since firestopping is our only business, we concentrate all our resources on providing the highest quality, fully tested, innovative firestopping solutions.
