Miguel Tomley scores 28 to lead Weber State over Pepperdine 68-53 at Arizona Tip-OffAUSTIN, Texas — Across the sport of football, there are plenty of father son duos, and Keenan and Kaden Hughes are no different. It's just their roster that is. "Once I actually dove into coaching girls, I absolutely fell in love with it," Keenan Hughes said. "I wouldn't dare go back to coaching boys after coaching girls." Keenan Hughes is the head coach of the women's flag football team at Concordia University, the first of its kind in Texas. The women's flag football program is set to launch this spring, and will be the first women's collegiate flag football program in the state. And with its launch will come a whole new generation of football family duos. Chrisma and Doxa Maulolo are one of the new emerging duos, and they're more than just teammates - they are twins, and probably the most in-synch quarterback and center duo to ever take the field. "When we're with each other we just know," Chrisma Maulolo said. "It snaps on our mind, I'm like 'I can catch Doxa's ball she knows where I'm going to go.'" "I know when she snaps it, she's gunna run there and she's gunna protect and she's gonna do her job," Doxa Maulolo said. They also know where they've been, and the hardships that football has helped them overcome. "A lot of times, my mental health is not the strongest," Doxa Maulolo said. "Football has given me a second chance because I wanted to give up on Concordia. Flag football has literally given me motivation and the confidence and the passion to even continue here." "Now, she has no plans of doing that because she has found that sense of family and that sense of inclusion within her teammates here," Keenan Hughes said. If you ask them, football was not part of the plan, but now they are here to stay, with hopes that they show other girls that they belong on the gridiron too. "I really, really hope that they see us and just take inspiration to say, I can do that too,'" Doxa Maulolo said. "We might be the first flag football team in Texas, but there are so many opportunities coming."m bmy888pro

Georgia QB Carson Beck declares for 2025 NFL Draft

The controversial Australian has played only one match in more than two years because of injury but that has not stopped him being an outspoken presence on social media during a difficult few months for the sport. First it was announced in August that Sinner had failed two doping tests in March but was cleared of fault, while in November Swiatek was handed a one-month ban for a failed test caused by contaminated medication. Feels good getting these consecutive days training in the bank man.... Wrist re construction and back out here... blessed..................Without failing any drug tests 🙂‍↕️🙏🏽 be proud kygs doing it the right way 😩😂 pic.twitter.com/J8l21lnTdI — Nicholas Kyrgios (@NickKyrgios) December 5, 2024 Kyrgios has been particularly vociferous in his criticism of Sinner, who could yet face a ban after the World Anti-Doping Agency appealed the finding of no fault or negligence in his case. At a press conference ahead of the Brisbane International, Kyrgios told reporters: “I have to be outspoken about it because I don’t think there’s enough people that are speaking about it. I think people are trying to sweep it under the rug. “I just think that it’s been handled horrifically in our sport. Two world number ones both getting done for doping is disgusting for our sport. It’s a horrible look. “The tennis integrity right now – and everyone knows it, but no one wants to speak about it – it’s awful. It’s actually awful. And it’s not OK.” Kyrgios initially underwent knee surgery in January 2023, returning to action in June of that year, but he played only one match before pulling out of Wimbledon due to a torn ligament in his right wrist. He has not played a competitive match since, and it appeared doubtful that he would be able to return, but the 29-year-old will make his comeback in Brisbane this week. Kyrgios will take on France’s Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in singles, while he will also team up with Novak Djokovic in a blockbuster doubles pairing. “It’s good to be back,” said Kyrgios. “I honestly never thought I’d be back playing at this level. Even entering an event like this, preparing, doing all the right things. A post shared by Nick Kyrgios (@k1ngkyrg1os) “I’m really excited to just go out there and play, just play tennis. I saw Novak in the gym, playing doubles with him, a lot to be excited about that I’m able to get out there and compete again.” Asked whether he could get back to the same level that saw him reach the Wimbledon final in 2022, Kyrgios said: “I still believe I can, whether or not that’s factual or not. There was another player who was like, ‘You have to be realistic’. That’s not how I am. I always back my ability.” The new tennis season is already under way, with the United Cup team event beginning on Friday. Great Britain, who are weakened by the absence of Jack Draper through injury, begin their campaign against Argentina in Sydney on Monday before facing hosts Australia on Wednesday. That could pit Katie Boulter against fiance Alex De Minaur, with the pair having announced their engagement last week. A post shared by Katie Boulter (@katiecboulter) “Obviously some incredible news from our side, but I think we kind of wanted it to die down a little bit before matches started,” said Boulter of the timing. “My private life is out in the public a little bit at the moment. But, in terms of the stuff that I’m doing on the court, I’ll be doing the best I can every single day to stay in my own little bubble.” Billy Harris has taken Draper’s place, with the British number one facing a race against time to be fit for the Australian Open because of a hip problem. Emma Raducanu is the sixth seed at the ASB Classic in Auckland and will begin her season with a match against Robin Montgomery, while Cameron Norrie takes on another American, Learner Tien, at the Hong Kong Open.

The Denver Broncos ' Week 16 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers has been flexed to Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime Video, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. The first Thursday night flex: The Week 16 Denver Broncos at Los Angeles Chargers game will move to Thursday Night Football on Prime Video while the Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals matchup will be played Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on FOX. According to NFL insider Albert Breer , the league had to get the Broncos' approval to make the decision since it will be the second road Thursday night game of the season for Denver. Broncos had to sign off on the Week 16 TNF flex, b/c it's their 2nd TNF road game. They were alerted Tuesday. Interesting element—Denver plays Cincinnati in Week 17 (X-mas week). Bengals got flexed out of TNF. So Denver gains the edge that the Bengals previously had for Week 17. This is a puzzling decision from the Broncos for multiple reasons, the first being that they will play on a short week in late December. Players are beat up and exhausted by that point of the season, making it tough to play on just three days rest. The next challenge is Denver being the road team, which means having to travel on a quick turnaround. The cherry on top of both of those factors is that these teams are closely jockeying for playoff seeding. Los Angeles defeated Denver back in Week 6, so the Broncos are going to be in huge need of winning this Week 16 rematch. The Broncos, who currently hold the seventh and final playoff seed in the AFC, trail the Chargers (currently the No. 5 seed) by one game. The Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals were originally slated for the Thursday night slot, but will now play the following Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. Ironically, Denver plays Cincinnati the following week. However, choosing to be fresh against a 4-7 Bengals team and playing a 7-3 Chargers team on a short week is, frankly, not a smart decision.
