Smishing specifically involves a text message or phone number. “Victims will typically receive a deceptive text message that is intended to lure the recipient into providing their personal or financial information,” USPIS warns . “These scammers often attempt to disguise themselves as a government agency, bank or other company to lend legitimacy to their claims.” While the USPS does offer free tools to track specific packages, it will not send customers text messages or e-mails without a customer first requesting the service with a specific tracking number — and it will not contain a link. To request the service, text the package’s tracking number to 28777 (2USPS). A text that comes from the agency would generally include a tracking number, package status, date, time, location and instructions to stop receiving further messages. Again, there would not be a clickable link. Per USPS , a text may look like: “USPS 01123456789123456789, Expected Delivery by: Monday, September 11, 2017 Reply STOP to cancel.” If you believe you have received a fraudulent text from a sender pretending to be the Postal Service, it is advised to send an email to spam@uspis.gov and take the following steps: ‘Snowed’ by counterfeit postage The number of counterfeit stamps being sold online has increased, and the quality of the fraudulent stamps has as well, making it harder to differentiate. “Are you looking online for a good deal on postage stamps? Is a substantial discount of up to fifty percent off an order of United States Forever Stamps too good to pass up? If so, keep scrolling, they’re probably counterfeit,” the USPIS said. If you can’t be home to receive a package, make another arrangement or use the USPS Hold Mail Service. Recipients can also use the Hold for PickUp option and collect the package at their local Post Office. USPIS warns against sending cash in the mail, saying that it’s not worth the risk. Additionally, if you do not receive a check, credit card or other valuable mail, contact the sender as soon as possible to look into it. If you’re the sender and mailing something important, consider requesting Signature Confirmation for the recipient.

He wrote on Truth Social: "For purposes of National Security and Freedom throughout the World, the United States of America feels that the ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity. His strong comments on Greenland came after he named PayPal Ken Howery as his pick for US ambassador to Denmark on Sunday. "Ken will do a wonderful job in representing the interests of the United States ," Trump added. read more in politics However, Greenland’s prime minister, Múte Egede said the Arctic island is "not for sale". He said: " Greenland is ours. We are not for sale and will never be for sale. "We must not lose our long struggle for freedom." China does not control or administer the canal, but a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison Holdings has long managed two ports located on the canal's Caribbean and Pacific entrances. For a quarter of Americans, keeping their home clean is more difficult than their full-time job, according to a recent survey. The survey of 2,000 Americans looked at their cleaning habits and challenges, especially when it comes to hosting, and found that keeping a tidy house is harder than their nine-to-five for nearly one in four (24%). How Much Time People Spend Prepping for Guests When having guests over, people will spend an hour, on average, straightening up just before they arrive. Forty-one percent said they worry that guests will notice grimy nooks and crannies while they’re over and almost half (48%) confessed that they don’t notice how dirty their home is until they have guests over, but once company is in the house, they can’t unsee their cleaning blindspots. The majority (57%) disclosed that they’re embarrassed when visitors come over and their home is less clean than they’d like, and most (80%) admitted they want to impress their visitors with how tidy their house is. In fact, 29% went so far as to say they’d forgo buying new clothes for a year in exchange for a squeaky-clean home without any dust or grime and a third (34%) admitted that their social schedules revolve around their cleaning schedules. Conducted by Talker Research and commissioned by BISSELL for the launch of the Steam Shot OmniReach Handheld Steam Cleaner & Sanitizer, the study found that parents will spend four hours per week cleaning up their homes while non-parents will spend three hours doing so, on average. Uncovering a few of their cleaning blindspots, the study found the least-cleaned places in the house are window blinds (29%), baseboards (27%), fans (23%) and windowsills (24%). And although a quarter (24%) have yet to perfect their cleaning routine, 71% said it’s important to them to sanitize and clean their house without harsh chemicals. According to the results, it’s even more important to parents than non-parents (72% vs. 69%). Nearly a fifth of parents (19%) reported they already used all-natural cleaning products prior to having kids and another 38% said they began to do so after becoming parents. “The best cleaning session is fast, satisfying and effective,” said Vana Kokkinos, brand manager of steam cleaning at BISSELL. “If you haven’t perfected your cleaning routine already, start fresh in 2025 with tools that make the job a breeze. To help with this, look for cleaning brands and products that prioritize your time and health as much as you do, are environmentally friendly and can quickly eliminate germs and bacteria.” When deciding which cleaning products to use in the home, 83% of parents said the health of their children is a major consideration. Other motivators for selecting one cleaning product over another include the efficacy (92%), ability to kill germs and bacteria (90%), versatility (86%) and environmental impact of the product (68%) according to respondents. The Financial Cost of Ineffective Cleaning Products Uncovering the price tag on ineffective cleaning products, respondents estimated they’ve wasted more than $600 on useless cleaning products and tools over the years, on average. And although most people (59%) are planning to keep their homes cleaner than ever in the new year, 79% wish they had a cleaning magic wand to help them out. But without such a tool, respondents shared some of their best cleaning tips and tricks such as “clean as you go,” “don’t let small jobs pile up,” “always dust and sweep before you polish and mop,” “steam clean the microwave, wash windows, iron out carpet stains” and “always have music playing.” “The survey results demonstrate the motivations for keeping a clean house go beyond just peace of mind. Of the five constituencies, BJP secured victories in three — Samaguri, Behali, and Dholai, while its allies AGP and UPPL triumphed in Bongaigaon and Sidli. Five-time MLA from Samaguri Rakibul Hussain's son, Tanzil, was defeated by BJP's state general secretary Diplu Ranjan Sarmah by a substantial margin. Tanzil endeavoured to represent Samaguri as the third politician from their family, after father Rakibul and grandfather Nurul Hussain. Rakibul served as a prominent cabinet minister in the Tarun Gogoi-govt and secured successive assembly polls from Samaguri since 2001. Nurul Hussain contested from Congress (S) ticket in the 1983 election and joined Congress (I) after winning. He subsequently prevailed as Congress candidate in the 1991 assembly polls and became a state minister in the Hiteswar Saikia-govt. Deputy leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha and Jorhat MP Gaurav Gogoi's preferred candidate Jayanta Borah had to bite the dust in the Behali seat to BJP's Diganta Ghatowal. Congress remained unwilling to relinquish Behali for CPI-ML despite ASOM's recommendation, ultimately causing opposition disunity. Jayanta Borah, a BJP defector, procured Congress ticket even before formally joining the party. Akhil Gogoi, MLA and Raijor Dal leader, criticised both Himanta Biswa Sarma regarding the Jharkhand defeat and Congress's perceived "big brother" attitude. Gogoi challenged Sarma's "unstoppable" narrative, citing Jharkhand results. He endorsed Jharkhand's opposition model, contrasting it with Assam's fragmented opposition. Gogoi faulted Gaurav Gogoi for undermining opposition unity by denying Congress allies constituencies, particularly regarding CPI-ML in Behali.
