In this groundbreaking procedure, a nail-lengthening technique known as the extramedullary method was used. The lengthening nail is placed under the muscles alongside the thigh bone rather than inside it. After surgery, the family learns how to operate the lengthening device, which gradually extends the bone by up to one millimetre per day. The progress of this six-month-long treatment is closely monitored at the hospital. Topi Laaksonen , a paediatric orthopaedist at new children's hospital, explained the advantages of this approach: “Compared to traditional lengthening methods that use external devices fixed through the skin and muscles, the nail-lengthening technique is less painful and less stressful psychologically and socially for the patient. It allows for a more normal daily life during the treatment period.” The nail-lengthening technique also significantly reduces the risk of infection and shortens the overall treatment time. Since 2014, nail-lengthening surgery has been used successfully to treat leg-length discrepancies in adolescents whose growth plates have closed. In these cases, a lengthening nail controlled externally is inserted inside the thigh or shin bone. Research and development have expanded the use of this technique to older school-aged children who are still growing. For younger children, placing a lengthening nail inside the growing thigh bone is not feasible. However, this new technique now makes it possible to treat significant leg-length discrepancies in younger children using the nail-lengthening method. “We can now offer this advanced treatment option to young children, where previously it was only available to older adolescents,” Laaksonen concluded. Over the past decade, the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa (HUS) has successfully performed 36 nail-lengthening procedures on the lower thigh and shin. The leg-length discrepancy was corrected in 89% of patients. HTAP Sports SummaryBrief at 2:06 p.m. EST

You can do the things you enjoy during this time. You may read a book or listen to your favourite music. There is a good chance that people will try to make you two different from each other. So, it won't be right to follow the advice of people from outside the group. BY Dr. Sohini Sastri Aquarius (Jan 22-Feb 19): Friends can get into fights if they don't understand each other. Before making a choice, look at both sides from a fair angle. Getting more money can help you with many of your money troubles right now. It will be fun to hang out with friends. Still, don't spend too much, or you'll be broke when you get back home. Today, don't forget to forgive the person you love. When making a choice, don't let your pride get in the way; instead, pay attention to your less experienced coworkers. Playing sports is fun, but don't let them get in the way of your studies. We need to find some fun things to do because being married is boring. Pisces (Feb 20-Mar 20): Stay positive because being negative will not only hurt your chances but also throw off your body's balance. Someone may come to your door today and ask you to give them money. You might run into money problems if you give them the money back. It is suggested that you not borrow money. You'll meet new people because of how nice and friendly you are. Because your partner cares about your well-being, he gets mad at you from time to time. Instead of getting mad at his anger, you should try to understand what he's saying. It's not healthy to imagine, and don't think that someone else will do your work for you. You will be able to find time for yourself today, even though you have a lot to do. In your free time today, you can make something. If you don't keep shocking your partner, he might think he's not important in your life.

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra police’s cyber cell has registered an FIR against 12 unidentified social media users for posting a “maliciously edited” video of one of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis’s speeches about Naxalism. Maharashtra Cyber registered the case on Tuesday based on a complaint filed by a representative of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The 12 social media users were booked for publishing or circulating false information that’s likely to cause fear among the public, defamation, and other relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Information Technology Act, officials said. The speech that’s part of the video is from last year when Fadnavis was the deputy chief minister, when he had said that Naxalites do not believe in the Constitution of India and democracy, and want to set up a parallel state. According to the police, the edited video did not have the initial part of the speech referring to Naxalites, making it appear as if Fadnavis was saying that he did not believe in the Constitution and democracy. “The complaint pertains to 12 social media users across platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube,” said special inspector general of police Yashasvi Yadav from the Maharashtra State Cyber Department. “The video originates from Fadnavis’s time as deputy chief minister, with his original address being modified before widespread distribution on social media channels.” Yadav added, “The video has been deliberately taken out of context to falsely portray the chief minister of Maharashtra saying that he does not believe in the Constitution of India, democracy, or any constitutional body, and suggesting that he aims to create a parallel state. The maliciously edited video has gained traction among certain unsocial elements who are using it to post derogatory, abusive, and objectionable comments.” Maharashtra Cyber has issued notices to social media platforms to provide information about the 12 users who posted the video. They were identified by their usernames: Bharat Bhavla Shinde (@Bs131B), Suddhodhan Sahajrao (@Suddhodhan74629), Nagpur Congress Sevadal (@SevadalNGP), Saurabh Singh Chauhan (@Sbchauhan0103), Mukesh Lavhale (@MukeshLavhale), suressh.kale, Prasad Salvi, Varad Kanki, Amol Kamble, Syed Saleem, THE SMART 230K, and Vishnu Bhotkar. A Maharashtra Cyber team is tracing the internet protocol (IP) address of the initial post to identify the culprits who edited the video and posted it on social media. The police have issued notices to all the social media intermediaries involved to provide information about the booked users.Given that it’s Christmas Eve, and the law of averages dictates that at least 30 per cent of those reading this haven’t finished their shopping yet, we’ll keep this short and sweet. Well, that and there is even less than usual going on at the moment. And in that vein, there will not be an update on Wednesday; plus the Post sports desk will either be just getting home, still asleep, or opening our stockings to see what Father Christmas brought. If it’s socks, there’s going to be trouble. Still, there were a couple of things worthy of mention that happened while most of us were sleeping, and with the English Premier League entering its holiday rush, lets start there. The news most were expecting after he was spotted hobbling out of Crystal Palace on crutches on Saturday, Bukayo Saka is out for “many weeks” with a hamstring tear. In a press conference on Monday, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta called the England international’s loss a “huge blow”, and then revealed that he would also be without Raheem Sterling “for weeks” as well. Sterling – the obvious back-up option for Saka – suffered a knee injury before the game against Palace, and Arteta said the on-loan Chelsea winger would need further testing on Tuesday to assess the extent of any damage. There’s never a good time to get sacked, but two days before Christmas has got to really sting. Only marginally better to be giving the news than receiving it you’d thing, unless you’re a proper Scrooge and revel in that sort of job.
