Its revenue in the third quarter of 2024 was up 30% from the same period last year to $726 million. For comparison, Palantir's top line increased at a much slower pace of 17% in 2023. The company's growth has accelerated as the year has progressed, with Palantir management pointing out on the November earnings conference call that it "continues to see AIP-driven momentum both in expansions and new customer acquisitions." As it turns out, Palantir's customer count swelled by a solid 39% year over year. Deal size also increased as the number of transactions worth at least $1 million increased by 30% year over year last quarter to 104. The company isn't attracting just new customers for its AI software platform; it is also winning more business from existing customers. This is evident from Palantir's net-dollar retention rate of 118% in Q3, a metric that compares Palantir's trailing-12-month revenue at the end of a quarter to the trailing-12-month revenue from the same customer cohort in the year-ago period. The company's net dollar retention in the same quarter last year stood at 107%, suggesting that existing customers have increased their adoption of its platform. Also, Palantir has a robust revenue pipeline that should allow it to sustain its impressive growth in the future as well. This is evident from the company's remaining deal value (RDV) worth $4.5 billion, a metric that jumped 22% year over year in the previous quarter. The impressive growth in this metric bodes well for Palantir as RDV is the total remaining value of the company's contracts at the end of a period. The chipmaker reportedly controls more than 85% of the market for AI data center graphics processing units (GPUs) , which explains why it has been clocking outstanding growth quarter after quarter. It is also worth noting that Nvidia may become a threat to Palantir in the enterprise AI software space. There have been plenty of previous warning signs. During the NAFTA renegotiations, for instance, Trudeau pressed the United States and Mexico to include progressive concepts like gender rights and Indigenous rights, which have nothing to do with free trade. His ignorance of the nuances of the job was on full display in 2021, when he said, “You’ll forgive me if I don’t think about monetary policy.” And his decision to go surfing in Tofino, B.C., during the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in 2021 showed his complete disinterest in national leadership. What Trudeau recently said about U.S. president-elect Donald Trump, the U.S. election and feminism proves that he’s shifted from a lame-duck to a dead-duck prime minister. On Tuesday evening, Trudeau spoke at an event hosted by the Equal Voice Foundation, a “registered charity dedicated to improving gender representation in Canadian politics,” according to its website. He clearly decided that this was the perfect venue to spout off several buckets of drivel about Trump and the U.S. election to a largely like-minded audience. “Just a few weeks ago, the United States voted for a second time to not elect its first woman president,” he said at the Equal Voice Gala Marking International Human Rights Day in Ottawa. “Everywhere, women’s rights and women’s progress is under attack. Overtly, and subtly. But I want you to know that I am, and always will be, a proud feminist. You will always have an ally in me and in my government.” These lines perfectly define Trudeau’s nine years as prime minister: divisive and delusional. Let’s start with his decision to keep calling himself a feminist. That’s pretty rich, all things considered. Two former senior cabinet ministers, Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott, would likely disagree based on their experiences in pushing back against the prime minister during the SNC-Lavalin affair. Celina Caesar-Chavannes, Trudeau’s former parliamentary secretary, would also likely disagree based on the “hostility” and “anger” she reportedly faced in private conversations with him. Ruth Ellen Brosseau, a former NDP MP who he bumped into during a May 2016 parliamentary session, in what came to be known as “Elbowgate,” might like a word, too. Meanwhile, over half of eligible American voters didn’t decide not to elect its first female president. They decided that Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris was a lousy choice who lacked the political knowledge, policy understanding and horse sense to lead the country. Trump may have his faults, but as I wrote in these pages recently, he’s a “far more competent political leader on his worst day than Harris would ever be on her best.” Also, when has Canada ever elected a female prime minister? The only woman to hold the position, Kim Campbell, was chosen by delegates at the Progressive Conservative leadership convention in 1993. It appears that Trudeau has a selective memory — or no memory at all. Returning to Trump, it’s fair to say that Trudeau’s comment was his mealymouthed way of countering the president-elect’s recent trolling efforts. This goes back to their Nov. 29 dinner meeting at Mar-a-Lago in Florida. Trudeau reportedly told Trump that his proposed 25 per cent tariff on all Canadian goods would destroy Canada’s economy. Trump then jokingly said that Canada could become the 51st state, with Trudeau serving as its governor. Trump continued to tease Trudeau in the days that followed. There was the widely viewed Dec. 3 meme that Trump posted to Truth Social of an AI-generated image of him standing on a mountain next to a Canadian flag, with the words, “Oh Canada!” On Tuesday, he called Trudeau “governor” and Canada a “great state.” Trudeau’s decision to push back by lamenting the results of the U.S. election may have given him some pleasure in private, but it was an extraordinarily stupid move to make in public. Trump, like most world leaders, knows this prime minister is weak and ineffective. He didn’t have much respect for Trudeau to begin with, and this indirect jab probably eliminated what little he had left. In the midst of difficult discussions about forthcoming tariffs that could potentially hurt both countries’ economies, it is beyond comprehension that the prime minister would choose to poke the presidential bear. That’s not the way to save us from Trump, which Trudeau claims only he can accomplish. No one is suggesting the prime minister should lay down and give in to every demand that Trump makes. Then again, Trump makes some fair points about this government’s lack of commitment to border security and national defence. This is the perfect opportunity to implement much-needed reforms. If Canadian goods end up getting hit with a 25 per cent tariffs, it will be due to Trudeau’s decision to have seemingly given up on being our leader. What a disgrace. National Post

A home remodel forced us to face the clutter, and now, we communicate much better. I consider myself a pseudo-minimalist . I don't buy knickknacks when traveling, fill my home with extra furniture, or stock up on pantry, beauty, or toiletry supplies. I like having dresser drawers that close easily and bookshelves I can pull a novel from without four others toppling onto my head. Now imagine the opposite of my personality in the clutter department, and you have my husband. He's a collector . He's a saver of the socks I would throw out because they're starting to get a small hole, of the hockey gear that goes unused, of extra dinnerware we don't have room for. So what are these two personalities doing living under one roof? Well, we love each other. And people do crazy things for love. The difference between how we dealt with clutter took a toll When we married and moved in together, the problem revealed itself in full. We had very different ways of organizing and even thinking about the items we bring — and keep — in our home. I felt suffocated and panicked at the stacks, bags, and boxes of his things. My attempts to purge items didn't go well. I didn't know how to be kind in my panic, and he didn't want things to change. Living with so much clutter affected my mental health. I felt the pressure of organizing so many things. It seemed impossible to make stuffed spaces look nice. Rooms felt cramped, every storage area overflowed, and our fights over the subject became caustic. I knew it was time for a different approach. He had emotional attachments to things that I didn't understand, but it didn't mean I was right in demanding that they go. High on the win, we implemented this same tactic in other areas by creating a "one in, one out" rule. If a new shirt comes into the house, he donates one. The same goes for other clothing items. And now, when he wants to buy a new appliance, he considers first if we have a space for it. We now have a new way of talking about clutter For items going unused, it takes a little more patience. I'll bring up the item I'd like to discuss and the fact that it seems we don't really need it. I use the word "seem" specifically so he can correct me if he is using it and I'm wrong. He usually replies with how he's hoping to use the item soon and we agree to a timeline. Then, if it's not used at least an agreed-upon number of times over the next year, we'll sell or donate it. Nowadays, our space is much more comfortable for me than when we first married. Decluttering our space will be an ongoing process as life and needs change, but we've learned how to talk through the "stuff" in a way that works for us both, and that's the real success story.
Sainsbury’s shoppers have branded new security measures introduced at stores across the UK as "utterly ridiculous". Customers have flocked to social media to vent that yellow sticker items were scanning at full price on self-service tills at Sainsbury's stores. To get the correct discount, they had to call over a Sainsbury's staff member to approve it. Other shoppers responded by sharing that they had experienced the same thing in their local supermarket store. One Sainsbury's shopper said: "Happened to me several times recently too, utterly ridiculous. I am now avoiding Sainsbury's, it is going down the plughole." And a second added: "It’s a massive headache and I hate it." Another shopper shared on Mumsnet: "I picked up some reduced smoked salmon in Sainsbo's today, but at the self-checkout, it came up as full price. "An assistant altered it and told me they have to do it manually as people are able to make their own yellow sticker barcodes and are using them on self-checkouts. Unbelievable!" A second person commented: "Yes, yellow reduced stickers don’t work in Sainsbury's anymore, which is really annoying when you self-checkout." Sainsbury's confirmed to the Mirror that they have been rolling out these new anti-fraud measures to its self-service tills in response to a surge in the use of fake coupons across its stores so the new security measures are not new. Earlier this year, a viral Tiktok "hack", dubbed "The Sainsbury’s method", allowed people to share screenshots of genuine Sainsbury’s discounts on full-price products. A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: "We have range of security measure in place in our stores, including processes to prevent fraud. We continue to accept genuine coupons, vouchers and reductions and are sorry for the inconvenience this slightly longer checkout process may cause." The new security measures for the self-service tills specifically target yellow sticker items and coupons. When you scan the item now, shoppers are presented with an error message and need to wait for a Sainsbury's worker to manually process the discount. James, who is also known as Arg, shows off his prized possession in the house. “This is my Christmas tree - as you can see it is slightly wonky," he said. "I actually cut this down myself with my bare hands believe it or not but I can’t take credit for the decorations. That was my girlfriend Nicoline and my mum Patricia. They made it look beautiful. I am proud of it.” Arg met Nicoline in July while walking to his gig in Marbella and the pair have gone from strength to strength ever since then. Now, the model is very much a part of James’ life, even having her own Christmas stocking on the fireplace. “This is the first Christmas me and Nicoline are going to be spending together,” he said. “We are going to make it a real special one to remember. I can't wait to make some amazing memories.” The wonky Christmas tree is decorated in lavish decorations including giant red bows, Christmas crackers and dazzling silver and white baubles, topped off with shimmering gold Christmas lights. A white and black grand piano and turquoise electric guitar sits behind the dining room table, which is decorated to the nines with gold, green and white flowers with glass chalices for the four person seated table. Grinning from ear to ear, Arg said: “The number one wedding singer and party event man in the country, this is where the preparation and magic happens.” But the quirkiness of his house doesn’t stop there. Arg's “favourite place in the house” is the garden which features a hot tub area, where James likes to relax on a winter evening. “There is nothing better. It is like being in a roasting hot bath.” The back garden also boasts an outdoor Love Island like sofa era for the summer months. “The garden is probably my favourite place in the house. I’ve managed to maintain a healthy weight and a good relationship with exercise and food. Nicoline is really good at tennis so we want to play doubles. She’s going to get me into mindfulness and meditation. “I’m feeling great. I have a job that I love, an amazing girl by my side – life couldn’t get any better. I’m no longer embarrassed or ashamed.
