For this article, we focused on inexpensive gifts for family members. Anything that our authors had purchased was a shoo-in for this article, but that only got us so far. After all, some family members might love Pokémon Sitting Cuties plushies, but not all of them are old enough to know what a "Pokémon" is. This firsthand stocking stuffing experience helped us find the tiny Lego kits, apparel, and more. To help fill out this list, we conducted some old-fashioned internet sleuthing and looked at what other gamers purchased and recommended for stocking stuffers. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania urged fellow Democrats to “chill out” and even expressed “no regrets” at having met with Trump’s Cabinet picks, including Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth and FBI Director nominee Kash Patel. “I have met with all of them so far,” Fetterman said. “And the ones that we haven’t, they’re on the schedule back in January.” Karl then asked if Fetterman regarded as qualified, to which the senator replied, “We’re gonna learn more.” Fetterman’s full comments, however, suggested that Democrats cannot rely on him to vote against Hegseth. “The president picked these people,” the Pennsylvania senator said. “Not gonna be my first choice, second choice, third choice, but that’s democracy.” “And, to me, it would be distressing if he is confirmed, if the Democrats are gonna turn our back collectively to the leader of Defense. That’s astonishing, and that’s dangerous,” he added. Fetterman expressed similar openness following his meeting with . In that meeting, for instance, the two men talked about immigration-related stories in their respective families. “I have learned things, and I have heard things, and I have no regrets,” the senator said. On the other hand, to view things less cynically, senators absolutely should consider their constituents’ views. In that sense, self-interest and proper public service should dovetail. And on the issue of Trump’s Cabinet picks, at least, it appears that they have done so in Fetterman. Moreover, the Pennsylvania senator reflects a segment inside the Democratic Party that has of fighting Trump. Opposing the president-elect where necessary is one thing, but the over-the-top anti-Trump rhetoric has left them exhausted. That fact alone suggests that even Trump’s most anti-establishment nominees might win unexpected support from a small number of dissident Democrats. LOS ANGELES (AP) — The leader of a Southern California white supremacist group was sentenced Friday to two years in federal prison for inciting violence at California political rallies in 2017. Robert Paul Rundo, 34, pleaded guilty in September to one count of conspiracy to violate the federal Anti-Riot Act, the U.S. attorney's office in Los Angeles said. “Hate and violence are antithetical to American values and tear at our community. It is therefore critical that we protect the civil and constitutional rights of our community against those who promote divisiveness," U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada said in a statement. Rundo's attorney didn't immediately respond to an email seeking comment. Prosecutors say Rundo co-founded the Rise Above Movement, which they describe as “a combat-ready, militant group of a new nationalist white supremacy and identity movement.” He and two others were accused of planning and engaging in violence at gatherings in Huntington Beach, Berkeley and San Bernardino in 2017. Rundo was arrested in 2018 for inciting violence at California protests and at a deadly riot in Charlottesville, Virginia. A federal court dismissed the charges in 2019, but they were reinstated by a federal appeals court in 2021. Rundo had left the United States after the charges were dismissed and was extradited last year from Romania when they were reinstated.
