PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Jalen Hurts may sit out a potential NFC East clincher against Dallas because of the lingering effects of a concussion . The Eagles could also just rest Hurts to play it safe -- even if he’s medically cleared ahead of Sunday’s game -- and protect their franchise QB from additional injury over the final two games. Eagles coach Nick Sirianni kept quiet this week on which QB will start Sunday, in large part, of course, because of the head injury suffered by Hurts in last week’s loss to Washington that forced him into the concussion protocol . The issue was complicated by backup Kenny Pickett’s rib injury suffered in relief of Hurts in his first real game competition in nearly a year. Tanner McKee, the third-string QB, could move into a backup role — or maybe even get the start against the Cowboys. Philadelphia's starting quarterback situation has surged past Saquon Barkley's chase at Eric Dickerson's season rushing record as the most intriguing talking point in the final two games. The Eagles (12-3) appear certain to win the division title — they're two games ahead of Washington (10-5) — and a No. 2 seed in the conference no matter the quarterback headed into the playoffs. Even with an unsettled QB spot, the Eagles are are still 71⁄2-point home favorites to beat division rival Dallas, per BetMGM Sportsbook. Sirianni appreciated that quarterback depth has been a strength for the Eagles. “We feel good about that room,” he said. So why risk Hurts against the Cowboys? There's little reason to make Hurts play only a week after absorbing a pair of blows to the head and the extra week off — maybe two if the finale against the Giants is truly meaningless — could add to his recovery time ahead of a home playoff game. The Eagles were burned in a similar situation last season when Hurts and star wide receiver A.J. Brown were both injured in the final game against the Giants with little at stake. With both players hampered by unnecessary injuries, the Eagles were dumped the next week by Tampa Bay in the NFC wild-card playoff game. The Eagles have options if Hurts is inactive. Pickett was 14 of 24 for 143 yards in relief, throwing a touchdown pass to Brown and an interception. Pickett, a first-round pick out of Pitt in 2022, went 14-10 as a starter for the Steelers before he was traded to the Eagles in the offseason. McKee was the Eagles’ 2023 sixth-round pick out of Stanford. The 6-foot-6, 231-pound quarterback has yet to take a snap in a regular-season game. He's mostly used in practice on the scout team or in developmental periods — at best, he'll stay late after practice to get some reps in with the top receivers. “Every week, every opportunity, it's knowing it could be my shot, my chance,” McKee said. He could finally get that shot against Dallas. With the Cowboys out of playoff contention, the questions persist for coach Mike McCarthy about bypassing Cooper Rush for a look at Trey Lance before both QBs hit free agency. McCarthy’s answer hasn’t wavered: Rush gives Dallas the best chance to win. Rush is 4-3 since Dak Prescott’s season-ending hamstring tear after going 5-1 over two previous stints as an injury replacement. That’s 9-4 total. Half the losses came in both of Rush’s starts against Eagles – the last of five games filling in during the 2022 season and the first game this season. “The mindset is to win,” McCarthy said. “We’re going to Philadelphia to win the game.” Barkley leads the NFL with 1,838 yards rushing for the season through 15 games. He still needs two big outings in the final games of the season against Dallas and the New York Giants to top Dickerson and his 2,105 yards for the Los Angeles Rams in 1984. Barkley is 268 yards away from passing Dickerson for the season mark and 162 shy from becoming the ninth player in NFL history with 2,000 yards rushing in a season. He ran for only 66 yards in the first game this season against Dallas. Dallas ranks 28th in the NFL in rushing defense, surrendering 135.9 yards per contest. Philadelphia, behind Barkley’s stellar play, tops the league at 187.9 yards per game on the ground. The Eagles have already have set a team record for yards rushing in a season with 2,818, and they are within four rushing touchdowns of tying the club’s single-season mark of 32, set in 2022. Barkley needs four more rushing touchdowns to tie LeSean McCoy’s Eagles record, set in 2011 and just 33 yards from scrimmage to break McCoy’s mark of 2,146 set in 2013. Star Dallas edge rusher Micah Parsons needs half a sack to reach double digits in each of his first four seasons despite missing four games with a high ankle sprain, the first injury absence of his career. The 2021 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year would be the fifth player to reach 10 sacks in each of his first four seasons. The other four — Claude Humphrey, Reggie White, Derrick Thomas and Dwight Freeney - are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. AP Pro Football Writer Schuyler Dixon contributed from Arlington, Texas. AP NFL: https://apnews.com/hub/nflWashington Commanders release 2023 first-round pick Emmanuel ForbesNoneGovernment secrecy protects sources and methods. And liars and errors. And obsolete military procurement contracts that are too politically important to challenge or change. That may be the story behind government secrecy about UFOs, more recently called Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, or UAPs. On Nov. 13, Rep. Nancy Mace, R-South Carolina, chaired a hearing by two House Oversight subcommittees on UAPs, seeking to determine whether information about them has been withheld from Congress and the American people. One of the witnesses was journalist Michael Shellenberger. He recently revealed in a report for his online news site Public that the U.S. government has an “Unacknowledged Special Access Program” about UAPs. It’s called “Immaculate Constellation,” and it has collected high-resolution images, sensor data and first-hand reports about UAPs for decades without any authorization from Congress, without even informing Congress of the existence of the program. Shellenberger obtained an 11-page report on Immaculate Constellation from a whistleblower and turned it over to Mace and the House Oversight subcommittees. Mace made the report available to the public on her congressional website. “This document is the result of a multi-year, internal investigation into the subjects of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), Technologies of Unknown Origin (TUO), and Non-Human Intelligence (NHI),” the report begins. It’s wild reading. According to the report, the U.S. government possesses full-motion video and forward-looking infrared imagery of a formation of a dozen “metallic orbs,” 3-6 meters in diameter, “skimming the ocean surface at high speed before dispersing in multiple directions.” Their maneuvering was “rapid and agile” and in the infrared footage they were “white-hot against the black-cold ocean.” Then there was a report of a “small-medium oval UAP” flying fast and low over a “sensitive coastal facility.” And there was another report of a “large equilateral-triangle UAP” that was “hovering and slowly rotating” directly over a grouping of ships that were engaged in intelligence collection in the Pacific Ocean. A report in the government’s files described a saucer-shaped UAP that ducked in and out of the clouds as if it “had become aware that it was under observation.” Another report told of a “boomerang UAP” that was observed “rapidly decelerating to a stationary hover, followed by the sudden emission of a sphere of light from the junction of the two ‘wings’ which expands to partially engulf the craft in a rotating sphere of light, at which point the available footage ends.” In 2021, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence reviewed reports of UAPs and concluded that some of the flying objects appeared to have technological capabilities that the U.S. and its adversaries couldn’t match. Congress has been pressing the executive branch for more information. In March, the Department of Defense released a report stating that in decades of investigations, no evidence had been found that these UAPs were extraterrestrial spacecraft piloted by non-human intelligence from another planet. But what are they and why are they here? Former Department of Defense official Luis Elizondo testified at the November hearing that the government has a secret program to retrieve the wreckage of crashed UAPs and reverse engineer them. “Advanced technologies not made by our government, or any other government, are monitoring sensitive military installations around the globe,” Elizondo testified. Last December, swarms of mystery drones buzzed Langley Air Force Base for 17 days, raising significant concerns. A Langley spokesman told the publication The War Zone that the “uncrewed aerial systems” didn’t “exhibit hostile intent, but anything flying in our restricted airspace can pose a threat to flight safety.” U.S. F-22 Raptor stealth fighter jets are based at Langley, where they are part of the nation’s defense forces protecting Washington, D.C. In March, the Senate Armed Services Committee heard testimony from U.S. Air Force General Gregory Guillot, who had recently become the head of U.S. Northern Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command, also known as NORTHCOM and NORAD. Guillot told the committee that drone incursions over the U.S. southern border numbered “in the thousands,” describing it as “alarming.” Since at least 2017, military experts have been warning of the danger presented by swarms of unmanned drones armed with surveillance equipment or weapons. “Imagine a world where somebody flies a couple hundred of those and flies one down the intake of my F-22s with just a small weapon on it,” General James Holmes said in a speech to the Air Force Association. The War Zone noted that the greater danger might be to fighter jets sitting “idle and vulnerable on the flight line.” One swarm of armed drones could destroy “a whole squadron of tightly packed fighters” without any chance to fight back. Non-hypothetical drone warfare is happening right now in the Russia-Ukraine war, and separately, a Pentagon spokesman acknowledged a series of drone incursions over U.S. air bases in England over the last 10 days. That raises a question: What has the Pentagon been doing all this time while the threat of inexpensive weaponized drones was developing? Is it possible that U.S. presidents, defense contractors, intelligence agencies and Pentagon officials intentionally hid from Congress and the public, for decades, all evidence that military drones were gradually becoming a reality, in order to protect existing defense procurement contracts that otherwise might have been questioned or rejected? To carry out a plan like that, multiple U.S. administrations would have to impose strict secrecy on every report of an unidentified flying object, then refuse to declassify the reports, or release them only with heavy redactions. In addition, the people making the reports would have to be ridiculed and marginalized to the point where they question their own sanity, making others afraid to report what they themselves have seen. If that sounds like a description of exactly what has happened, we may finally have solved the unsolved mystery of Unidentified Flying Objects. Sorry. I was rooting for it to be space aliens, too. The youth have right to form political partyKolkata, Nov 30 (IANS): Four illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators were arrested from Mazdia under Krishnaganj Police Station in Nadia district in West Bengal on Saturday. The four illegal immigrants arrested have been identified as Sumi Akhtar, Iman Biswas, Shankar Biswas and Rupkumar Biswas. Sources from the state police said that although the accused were residents of four different locations in Bangladesh, they illegally crossed the porous borders in the district and started residing at a local house at Majdia faking them as Indian citizens. Based on information from their sources, the cops of Krishnaganj Police Station raided the residence on Saturday morning and nabbed the four illegal Bangladeshi residents. Later in the day, all were presented to a district court in Nadia which remanded them to police custody. Sources said that the cops are currently interrogating them to find out their real purposes for illegally crossing over to India and staying at the local place. The cops are also trying to get an idea of their local associates who helped them to come to India and stay there. They have been booked under various sections of the Foreigner’s Act. In a similar case, the cops of Park Street station in Kolkata on Saturday arrested a Bangladeshi citizen Selim Matabbar aka Safiq Sardar who had been residing in Kolkata and working at a local hotel in the city with a fake Indian passport. The accused had close connections with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) when he was there. West Bengal BJP President and Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar said that under Mamata Banerjee's leadership, West Bengal has become a "haven" for illegal infiltrators, driven by her appeasement politics. "Neighbouring country's citizens infiltrate India effortlessly, securing IDs, while her government obstructs central efforts to establish Border Outposts (BOPs) and openly criticises the BSF. Does the Chief Minister intend to shield these infiltrators? After witnessing Bangladesh's plight, will she still refuse to act? She owes the nation an explanation," he added.

A NEW test for prostate cancer shown to be more than 90 per cent accurate at detecting the disease is set to save thousands of lives. The simple blood test, developed by a British biotech company, identifies abnormal immune cells which act as a marker of this cancer. Ministers have been urged to adopt this test as the existing prostate specific antigen (PSA) blood test is notoriously unreliable. Three out of four men with a raised PSA level do not have prostate cancer and one in seven men with a normal PSA result have the disease. Six times gold-medal winning Olympic cyclist Sir Chris Hoy, 48, who was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer earlier this year, has been campaigning for more screening of men aged 45, as opposed to the current age of 50. Trials have shown the new test, the Epi-Switch PSE, developed with scientists from the University of East Anglia and London’s Imperial College, in collaboration with Oxford Biodynamics, can pick out men with prostate cancer 92 per cent of the time. It was also able to correctly identify men who did not have prostate cancer 94 per cent of the time. The charity Prostate Cancer Research recently delivered a report to Parliament outlining the benefits of the EpiSwitch PSE test and other similar advanced prostate cancer blood tests. Its report was presented at a summit of MPs attended by Gary Lineker , the Match of the Day presenter, Oscar-winning film director Sir Steve McQueen and the Foreign Secretary David Lammy. The charity believes the new blood test could save thousands of lives a year and reduce the number of unnecessary biopsies by 50 per cent. There are more than 52,000 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed each year and 12,000 deaths. But unlike breast, bowel and cervical cancer, there is currently no reliable NHS screening for the disease. Every year tens of thousands of men undergo a tissue biopsy of the prostate gland and an expensive MRI as a result. The EpiSwitch PSE test detects specific immune cell changes in the blood if prostate cancer is present. When combined with the PSA test the cancer check is far more accurate than PSA alone. Dr Jayne Spink, research director of the charity, said: “The future of prostate cancer screening lies in integrating new tests. “Our report finds we could save 19 thousand years of life from a five-year screening programme if the technology that already exists were to be adopted.” Prostate Cancer Research believes that the timing is ideal to explore innovative screening strategies and consider their benefits to patients, their loved ones and society as a whole. Despite the significant increase in accuracy detection rates demonstrated by the EpiSwitch PSE, Oxford BioDynamics has been unable to land a large-scale clinical study with the NHS. The PSE test is on offer privately in the UK, including at the London Clinic which diagnosed King Charles with a prostate-related condition, and a network of more than 140 Goodbody clinics across the country. A Department of Health and Social Care spokesperson said: "Prostate cancer patients are waiting too long for diagnosis and treatment, and we are working to change that. "The UK National Screening Committee is urgently reviewing the evidence for prostate cancer screening programmes including targeted approaches for those at higher risk. "Our first ever men's health strategy will consider how to prevent and tackle the biggest health problems affecting men of all ages.”

In a Dec. 22 Truth Social post , Trump announced Ken Howery as his choice for United States Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark and added that the U.S. should pursue control of Greenland. Greenland is an island located between the Arctic and Atlantic oceans and is a territory of the Kingdom of Denmark. “For purposes of National Security and Freedom throughout the World, the United States of America feels that the ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity,” Trump’s post says. While Trump hasn’t elaborated on his motivation to purchase Greenland, the territory has access to valuable natural resources and houses a large U.S. military base . Its location also provides access to the Arctic Ocean from the Atlantic. Trump first floated the idea of purchasing Greenland in 2019, during his first administration. Denmark’s prime minister called purchase discussions “absurd,” prompting Trump to cancel a planned trip to the country. Arkansas Republican Sen. Tom Cotton penned an op-ed in 2019 saying that acquiring the territory would provide a safeguard against foreign threats like what the U.S. faced during World War II and the Cold War. After Trump expressed renewed interest in Greenland on Dec. 22, Google search data shows there’s been a spike in searches about Trump’s statement and Greenland, including whether the territory is for sale. THE QUESTION Is Greenland for sale? THE SOURCES Greenland Prime Minister Múte Egede Danish national government website Self-Government Act in 2009 Statement from Denmark Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen to ABC News Rasmus Jarlov , a member of Danish parliament U.S. Space Force THE ANSWER No, Greenland is not for sale. WHAT WE FOUND Greenland is not for sale, Múte Egede, the territory’s prime minister, said on Facebook . “Greenland is ours. We are not for sale and will never be for sale. We must not lose our years-long fight for freedom,” Egede wrote in Danish, translated into English via Google Translate. “However, we must continue to be open to cooperation and trade with the whole world, especially with our neighbours. Since all cooperation and trade cannot go through Denmark. All cooperation with us must be based on our values. Because at all times we must not squabble about our country,” Egede wrote. Greenland is an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, according to the Danish national government website . It has its own government, managing most domestic affairs, while Denmark oversees foreign policy, defense and monetary matters. In 2009, Greenland's residents voted for increased autonomy , which gave the island its own parliament and independent leadership, but it is still in part controlled by Denmark. According to Greenland’s Self-Government Act in 2009 , Greenland has the option to declare full independence if it chooses to in the future. First, in order to do that, the decision regarding Greenland’s independence must be brought before the people. Greenland has a population of roughly 56,000. If Greenland’s population decides to move forward, negotiations begin between Danish and Greenland governing bodies. An agreement has to be made between the two, and if reached, Greenland’s parliament has to approve and then draft a resolution for independence. The agreement for independence ends with Denmark’s parliament approving the independence. Greenland would then become an independent nation. In response to Trump’s Dec. 22 Truth Social post, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen told ABC News the “Danish Government is looking forward to welcoming the new American ambassador. And the Government is looking forward to working with the new administration.” “In a complex security political situation as the one we currently experience, transatlantic cooperation is crucial. As far as statements about Greenland, the Prime Minister's Office has no comments other than reference to what was stated by the Premier of Greenland about Greenland not being for sale, but open for cooperation.” VERIFY reached out to the Danish prime minister’s office for comment, but did not hear back at the time of publication. Danish parliament member Rasmus Jarlov rejected Trump’s interest in purchasing Greenland in a post on X. “Greenland is Danish. It has been since 1380 and it will continue to be. This is undisputed, signed in rock in treaties and not open for negotiation. At all. Dictators threaten to take control over other countries' territory. Free democratic countries do not,” Jarlov said. The U.S’s interest in Greenland did not begin with Trump. In 1946, the U.S. considered proposals to pay Denmark $100 million in gold bars for Greenland or trade oil-rich land in Alaska for some of Greenland’s territory, according to the Associated Press . Even though the sale did not go through, the United States ended up with the military bases it wanted anyway. The U.S. Air Force currently maintains two bases in Greenland, Thule and Sondestrom. Construction of the Thule base in 1952 was made possible by a defense treaty signed by the U.S. and Denmark in 1951 . Originally designed as a refueling base for long-range bombing missions, it has been a ballistic missile early warning site and satellite telemetry station since 1961. Sondestrom’s mission is in support of the base at Thule. The Associated Press contributed to this report. The official judges' scorecards for Oleksandr Usyk's thrilling victory over Tyson Fury have been revealed. Usyk earned a unanimous decision verdict to beat Fury for a second time, as judges Gerardo Martinez, Patrick Morley and Ignacio Robles all scored the bout 116-112 in favour of the Ukrainian. Although the trio all ended with the same result, it is worth pointing out they could not agree on six different rounds. Across the fight, the only rounds Martinez, Morley and Robles scored the same were the fifth, sixth, seventh, eight, 10th and 11th. There had already been plenty of controversy about the selected judging panel before a punch had even been thrown. Martinez, Morley and Miami's Fernando Barbosa were initially picked as the three judges. However, Barbosa fell ill at late notice and was unable to fly to Riyadh. New Jersey's Steve Weisfeld and Panama's Ignacio Robles jetted in to Saudi Arabia, although Fury and Usyk's camps were split as to which judge would replace Barbosa. Robles, who was Usyk's preferred choice according to respect boxing report Keith Idec, was ultimately chosen in the end, but by a rather bizarre method - a coin toss. Regardless of who was behind the scorecards, the result left a sour taste in the mouth of Fury's promoter, Frank Warren . "It's nuts," Warren said. "Did you have him as only winning four rounds out of eight? "Very harsh. It's nuts. I don't get it. But it is what it is, and we'll see what happens in the future with Tyson. "Tyson was dumbfounded. They gave him four rounds out of the 12, which is impossible. "I've been around a long time and I know I'm biased, but one judge didn't give him any rounds from round six onwards. Look! No rounds. How can that be? That's impossible. "Same with the other judge. They gave him one round in the last six, and the same here with this guy. It's crazy. I'm calm and collected, I'm not screaming and shouting. That is nonsense." A penny for Warren's reaction to the AI scorecard that was used for the first time. The AI scorecard awarded Usyk the fight but by a significantly wider margin of 118-112. However, the AI scorecard remained nothing more than an interesting background experiment. It didn't stop Fury from letting loose on the technology once he was informed of how the technology scored the contest during his post-fight press conference. "S***. F*** all computers, keep humans," Fury said. "More jobs for humans, less jobs for computers. "F*** electric cars too." The judging panel for Fury and Usyk's rematch was completely different from the one who oversaw their first fight in May. Spain's Manuel Oliver Palomo, Canada's Craig Metcalfe and Wisconsin's Mike Fitzgerald judged the fight that time. Metcalfe was the only one to score the fight in Fury's favour as Palomo and Fitzgerald believed Usyk won, as the Ukrainian picked up a split decision victory.

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel’s attorney general has ordered police to open an investigation into Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s wife on suspicion of harassing political opponents and a witness in the Israeli leader’s corruption trial. Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara made the announcement in a terse message late Thursday, saying the investigation would focus on the findings of a recent report by the “Uvda” investigative program into Sara Netanyahu. The program uncovered a trove of WhatsApp messages in which Mrs. Netanyahu appears to instruct a former aide to organize protests against political opponents and to intimidate Hadas Klein, a key witness in the trial. The announcement did not mention Mrs. Netanyahu by name, and the Justice Ministry declined further comment. But in a video released earlier Thursday, Netanyahu listed what he said were the many kind and charitable acts by his wife and blasted the Uvda report as “lies.” “My opponents on the left and in the media found a new-old target. They mercilessly attack my wife, Sara,” he said. He called the program ”false propaganda, nasty propaganda that brings up lies from the darkness.” It was the latest in a long line of legal troubles for the Netanyahus — highlighted by the prime minister's ongoing corruption trial . The pair have also had a rocky relationship with the Israeli media. Netanyahu is charged with fraud, breach of trust and accepting bribes in a series of cases alleging he exchanged favors with powerful media moguls and wealthy associates. Netanyahu denies the charges and says he is the victim of a “witch hunt” by overzealous prosecutors, police and the media. The report obtained correspondence between Sara Netanyahu and Hanni Bleiweiss, a former aide to the prime minister who died of cancer last year. The messages indicated that Sara Netanyahu, through Bleiweiss, encouraged police to crack down violently on anti-government protesters and ordered Bleiweiss to organize protests against her husband's critics. She also told Bleiweiss to get activists in Netanyahu's Likud party to publish attacks on Klein. Klein is an aide to billionaire Hollywood mogul Arnon Milchan and has testified in the corruption case about her role in delivering tens of thousands of dollars worth of champagne, cigars and gifts to Netanyahu for her boss. According to the report, Bleiweiss also was instructed to organize demonstrations outside the homes of the lead prosecutor in the corruption case, Liat Ben-Ari, and then Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit, who had issued the indictments, and protests and social media campaigns smearing political opponents. According to the report, Bleiweiss was a loyal aid to Netanyahu for decades. But while she was ill, it said Sara Netanyahu mistreated her, prompting her to share the messages with a reporter shortly before her death. Sara Netanyahu has been accused of abusive behavior toward her personal staff before. This, together with accusations of excessive spending and using public money for her own extravagant personal tastes, has earned her an image as being out of touch with everyday Israelis. In 2019, she was fined for misusing state funds. National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who oversees police and has repeatedly said the attorney general, Baharav-Miara should be fired over a series of grievances against her, said the latest announcement was another reason for her to be dismissed. “Someone who politically persecutes government ministers and their families cannot continue to serve as the attorney general,” he said. And Justice Minister Yariv Levin, another Netanyahu ally and critic of Baharav-Miara, accused her of focusing on “television gossip.” “Selective enforcement is a crime!” he said in a statement. AP correspondents Eleanor H. Reich in New York and Isaac Scharf in Jerusalem contributed reporting.Herbert tosses 3 TD passes and Chargers secure a playoff spot with a 40-7 rout of PatriotsDec. 27—Christmas came late for the Boiling Springs boys basketball team. In Friday's Bubbler Alumni Holiday Tournament opener opposite Dover, the hosts stuffed their proverbial stockings with nine 3-pointers, 17 steals and a whole lot of confidence. The myriad gifts placed the Bubblers on the basketball gods' nice list and steered them on the path of a 84-40 victory atop Coach Dieter Court. Bubbletown (8-2) draws Hershey, a 68-54 winner over Carlisle in Friday's adjacent opener, in Saturday's title tilt at 8 p.m. The Herd and Eagles will duel in a 3:30 p.m. consolation. "I think it definitely set a tone," Boiling Springs senior Eli Kimmel said. "I think a lot of our misses on opportunities, they weren't coming out as hard, and so we were able to set the tone real quick, rolling with a steady pace. I think that was good for us." The Bubblers fostered a steady pace, to the tune of a 26-9 first quarter and a 15-2 spree in the third quarter. Riley Lucido led the charge with 15 points while Brandon Ascione contributed 14, Ethan Yenser drained 13 and Mason LaBuda added nine. The quartet didn't play in the final frame with the Bubblers inducing a running clock and booming to a 64-32 third-quarter advantage. "It doesn't matter who you play," Boiling Springs head coach Brett Sheaffer said, "when you coach long enough, you're on both sides of the coin, and it's just about getting better. Dover is in the same boat as we are. They're just trying to get better, and everybody's on a different level. Some years you're up, and some years you're down, and we were just trying to get better." While the Bubblers' first-half output bested their second-half performance, Sheaffer highlighted key reserve minutes as another foundation of growth. Noah Mandell deposited four 3-pointers for 12 points, Jon Wonders cashed in for six and Timmy George kicked in four. In all, Bubbletown featured 11 scorers. "It creates more of a team kind of family," said Kimmel, who also tacked on four tallies, "maybe some more camaraderie. It meant more because we did it as a team. Rather than the starting five just scoring, it helped that the bench scored." Dover struck a pair of 7-0 spurts in the second and fourth quarters, utilizing six 3-pointers to generate some energy. Logan Stites paced the Eagles with 11 points while Jay Grant and Nathan Cooper crashed the defenders for eight points apiece. But the Bubblers' 17 steals and six blocks compounded Dover's lack of momentum. "Transition is a lot of how we get our energy up," Lucido said. "And so every time we get a transition bucket, I feel like the energy keeps going up — it keeps piling up." The Trojans will provide a test Saturday. Leading Carlisle 31-26 at halftime Friday, Hershey erupted for a 17-point third quarter to pull away from the Herd. Carlisle's Parker Smith led all scorers with 28 points. Meanwhile, 10 of Cam Sweeney's 18 points ignited the Trojans' upswing, and double-digit efforts from Jack Zakovitch (15), James Campbell IV (11) and Drew Grana (10) also played their role. "Hershey is one of the standard programs in the area," Sheaffer said. "And (head coach Paul Blackburn) is one of the best that's done it in the area a long time. He has that program humming, and it's going to be a challenge, a huge challenge, for us tomorrow. But I told the guys, it's an opportunity. If you're not excited to play on your home court for the championship game against a good team like that, then you're never going to get up for a game."
