Formula One confirmed earlier today that it had provided General Motors with an "agreement in principle" to join the Formula One grid in 2026 under its Cadillac branding. However, it was not clear how the Andretti name might fit into this. The racing legend has since spoken out on still being involved in the team. Mario Andretti commented : "My first love was Formula 1 and now – 70 years later – the F1 paddock is still my happy place. "I'm absolutely thrilled with Cadillac, Formula 1, Mark Walter, and Dan Towriss. "To still be involved at this stage of my life — I have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming." Andretti Global had partnered with General Motors to bolster its F1 bid which had originally been approved by the FIA in the October 2023. However, the American team was later rejected by Formula One Management in January 2024. ATLANTA (AP) — Jimmy Carter, the peanut farmer who tried to restore virtue to the White House after the Watergate scandal and Vietnam War, then rebounded from a landslide defeat to become a global advocate of human rights and democracy, has died. He was 100 years old . The Carter Center said the 39th president died Sunday afternoon, more than a year after entering hospice care , at his home in Plains, Georgia, where he and his wife, Rosalynn, who died in November 2023, lived most of their lives. The center said he died peacefully, surrounded by his family. A moderate Democrat, Carter ran for president in 1976 as a little-known Georgia governor with a broad grin, effusive Baptist faith and technocratic plans for efficient government. His promise to never deceive the American people resonated after Richard Nixon’s disgrace and U.S. defeat in southeast Asia. “If I ever lie to you, if I ever make a misleading statement, don’t vote for me. I would not deserve to be your president,” Carter said. Carter’s victory over Republican Gerald Ford, whose fortunes fell after pardoning Nixon, came amid Cold War pressures, turbulent oil markets and social upheaval over race, women’s rights and America’s role in the world. According to Maxine Yeung, MS, RD, you can expect about a quarter gram of tryptophan per three ounce portion of cooked turkey breast. "For comparison, two large eggs contain one third gram of tryptophan, which is already more than what you'd get from a single serving of turkey breast," Yeung says. How Much Turkey Would It Take to Make You Tired? Research published in the Journal of Psychiatry & Neuroscience found that a full gram of tryptophan may help those with mild insomnia and a long sleep latency fall asleep faster. A single serving of turkey, however, only contains a fourth of this amount. Building off of this study, it'd take quite a bit of turkey to actually make you tired.
