Qatar tribune Tribune News Network Doha In an inspiring display of innovation, Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), in collaboration with Qatar Scientific Club (QSC) and the Ministry of Sports and Youth, organized a 72-hour AI-focused Hackathon at the QSTP AI Week 2024, held in commemoration of QSTP’s 15th anniversary. The hackathon attracted 70 participants from four public technical schools in Qatar, as well as 30 students from Qatar University and the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST). The competition was held within the framework of QSTP’s AI Week 2024 and featured a series of innovative challenges designed to engage students in the practical applications of robotics to tackle real-world sustainability issues. Participants, aged between 15 and 18 years, were divided into two categories: high school students, who were tasked with solving specific challenges, and university students, who were given the freedom to address issues ranging from resource and waste management to sustainable agriculture. Over the course of the competition, participants attended a series of hands-on workshops led by QSC mentors and experts, who guided the students through each challenge, refining their skills in problem-solving, public speaking, and presenting their ideas. A pollution-free environment — clean air, pure drinking water, open fields, and parks with trees and flowers. That they may appreciate nature and learn how to protect the rivers, seas, lakes, and forests. 4. Quality education. That the public school system will be upgraded with dedicated teachers, more classrooms equipped with internet facilities, and books for students. That all kids will be given the opportunity to study and have the chance to excel. 5. Mental health care. That there will be enough psychologists and guidance counselors to help and protect adolescents with their issues such proper mental health care. Many children suffer from depression and anxiety. Some are desperate and take extreme risks. There should be a holistic psychospiritual treatment program to address this growing situation. 6. A comprehensive sports program for national and international competitions. That kids will learn the values of friendly competition, and the art of winning and losing gracefully. 7. A gender discrimination-free society that will encourage girls and boys to become leaders in school and later in their chosen professions. That they would have the resources from government and the private sector to fulfill their goals. 8. A progressive national arts and culture program and outreach projects to elevate and enhance the consciousness of children. 9. More education grants and financial stipends for good scholarships for deserving students. The appropriate work opportunities and support, both local and international, graduates. 10. Quality and balanced programming on television with more educational and entertaining shows. That producers will not exploit aspiring young performers. That there be proper protection for minors and performers who come out in shows. That all children and adolescents be protected. That social media content would be elevated to a higher level. 11. An accelerated science, math, and technology educational program to equip all future graduates with the necessary IT skills to compete in the international markets. 12. A stable economy. Jobs and livelihood opportunities for parents so that their children can go to and stay in school. Children should not be made to work in sweatshops or beg on the streets. Illegal child labor factories and armies are forbidden. 13. A country with visionary national and local leaders. An efficient, transparent government that is free from corruption. Integrity, compassion, and delicadeza (a sense of pride, honor, propriety, decorum, and/or decency) are some of the best qualities the officials should have. 14. A safe, crime-free, drug-free, abuse-free environment. That all kids be protected from the menace of incest, physical and emotional abuse, and the scourge of drugs. The internet is now being used by predators to exploit children and expose them to sexual abuse. 15. That children not be used as soldiers in areas of armed conflict. 16. Freedom of expression. That children have the right to be themselves. That adults realize that children need respect, and they are entitled to be heard. That there be open communication with parents and teachers or mentors. 17. Innocence. That they have a happy childhood and the chance to enjoy being a child. Chiefs keep winning despite an O-line problem that has wreaked havoc with their offense
MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee Bucks owe much of their turnaround from a dreadful start to the way Giannis Antetokounmpo has raised his extraordinary game to an even higher level. He has three triple-doubles in the last six games he has played. “He’s been amazing because he’s scoring, but more importantly, he’s getting everybody involved,” Bucks coach Doc Rivers said after the Bucks’ over the Washington Wizards on Saturday night. “It’s so difficult to help off a passer that can score. There’s a lot of guys in this league who can score, (but) they ain’t passing. You can go trap them. You can kind of junk up the game. But the way Giannis is passing, you’ve got to pick your poison.” Antetokounmpo had 42 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists Saturday for the highest-scoring triple-double of his career while helping the Bucks win their sixth straight. After losing eight of their first 10 games this season, the Bucks have won eight of nine to get above .500 at 10-9 for the first time since in their season opener. The Bucks’ progress was evident Saturday in how they found a way to win on a night when they weren’t particularly sharp. “If this was the third game or fourth game of the season, we probably would have lost that game,” Antetokounmpo said. “Now we just know — no matter if it looks pretty, if we’re playing well — we’ve got to figure out ways to win the game.” Antetokounmpo has been figuring out plenty of ways to help his team lately. His 42-point performance Saturday improved his season scoring average to an NBA-leading 32.9 points. He also has 11.9 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game. Rivers said Saturday that this is “by far” the best stretch he’s seen from Antetokounmpo since taking over as the Bucks’ coach midway through last season. “Because it’s not just scoring,” Rivers said. “It’s everything. He’s blocking shots. He’s rebounding the ball. He’s passing the ball. He’s starting our break. Him and Dame (Lillard), their two-man game has been fantastic. He’s just doing a lot of stuff for us, and he’s doing it in the flow. It doesn’t look forced.” Antetokounmpo recorded his first triple-double of the season Nov. 16 when he had 22 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists when the Bucks at Charlotte. The Bucks haven’t lost since. Six nights later, Antetokounmpo had 37 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in a over the Indiana Pacers. His latest triple-double came after he sat out a at Miami on Tuesday with swelling in his left knee. Saturday marked the first game Antetokounmpo had played in a week. He said afterward that it took a while for him to get back into a rhythm, but he noted the time off helped him in other ways. “I felt powerful because obviously I took two or three days after the Miami game to lift some weights, get my legs under me,” Antetokounmpo said. “So I felt powerful. Every move was powerful out there.” That power helped Antetokounmpo produce his 48th career triple-double, and eighth with at least 35 points. The Bucks noted after the game that Antetokounmpo matched the number of triple-doubles with 35 points that Michael Jordan accumulated in his career.
